I have the stock pzero summers from the PP package that are wearing out, thinking of grabbing some indy 500s instead. Never had a complaint with the pzeros but also dont have experience with any other summer tire so dont know what I'm missing. Keeping it boxed at 255/40/19

Anyone make the switch or at least currently run indy 500s?

Any other suggestions for $250 or under?

Should I switch to 275 instead of 255?

Thanks

MUCH better street summer tire than the Pzeros and very comparable performance on track. They grip much better in cool weather and are more consistent in the summer weather. Better in the rain, too. Other options are the BFG Comp-2, as well as the newer Falken FK510. I would stick with 255/40R19 on your 9" wide wheels.

@BmacIL

Lol thanks man I was still going off the advice you gave me earlier, which I always trust. I was just seeing if anyone else had good experiences before I took $800 from my supercharger savings :like:

Continental Extremecontact Sports. Should outperform the Firestones for about $20 more per tire

Another good option for sure, and agreed on their performance.

I ran the 500s after the PZero ran out and I really liked the tire, no complaints, there's always the caveat with this tire that seems to be that you can't do better, for the price. It has some shortcomings I suppose but most people try and compare it to let's say the PS4S, for instance. I'd put them on my Camaro but my budget will probably allow me to get a better a tire but that's just a subjective thing.
The thing to with the 500 is it's a Firehawk and that isn't a name that people associate with a blazing hot tire. The Firehawk name comes with a reduced price, maybe even a reduced reputation. Now had the tire retained the Bridgestone RE003 model name, it would quite possibly enjoy a higher reputation which it had overseas before coming to the states under the Firehawk name. Higher price, too.

I'm currently running Indy 500's in a 285/35 square setup. Much better in the rain, less road noise and much more consistent in the summer heat too.

Like other posters said, for the price they can't be beat. They don't perform like a PS4S but if you have a habit of killing tires quickly they're much easier on the wallet, and offer 85% of the performance. Having run both PS4S and indy 500, that last 15% is really only noticeable on a road course imo.

Definitely this. The Indy 500 has gone up in price over the last couple years as the demand has increased, though. Word of mouth has been strong.

I plan on replacing my PZEROs with Indy 500s really soon.

Post your review of them if you get them installed. Just going with the stock sizes 275 rear 255 front
