How often does your battery die.. on a new car..? How hard is it to pull down the backseat..?
There's a reason they sell jumper cables. I've had batteries die on me... at least a dozen times over the years. Could be old batteries; could be something stupid like leaving the dome light on or locking the keys in the car with the engine running or whatever, but once because a switch went and the trunk light didn't shut off when you closed the trunk -- which is something that's truly impossible to notice or prevent.

And pulling the back seat down isn't difficult, but pulling the back seat down and then trying to reach through the narrow pass-through to find the manual inside emergency trunk release so that you can open up the trunk and get into the spare tire well where you keep extra oil and washer fluid and jumper cables and stuff like that since these cars don't come with spare tires... well, perhaps you're more limber than I.

As for SCT programming, the X4 already has prompts that tells you to push the button vs turn the key.

Well, not a new manufacturers battery yet (knock on wood) but a premium replacement died on me after 4 months without notice after having driven to work without an issue. It does and can happen to even the best batteries. It's very rare though.

At least there is access to the trunk contents via the back seats albeit an inconvenience but not the end all to snag groceries or luggage.

I stored my Lincoln 2013 MKS last winter and didn't put a battery tender on it and it died.
But my key fob opened the doors and trunk when it was stone dead.
Hope that helps.
