It's worrying that this problem appears to be cropping up more often :(

Taken tonight in preparation for an email to the dealer.

I shall be expecting them to just order the part without me having to go over there for them to inspect it and then go back to have it fitted when it turns up. Assuming they don't try and blame the exhaust or stripes or something else I've done to the car!

Apparently the previous generation(s) had this issue too.

How hard can it be to realise it's a major issue and sort it at manufacture?

That said, take a look at any Ford over a couple of years old and I'll bet you'll be able to spot either the centre caps or the badges flaking away.

I lacquered the last rear badge I fitted to my Mondeo and will be doing the same to the centre caps I've just received.

It is a worry mate.
Though only seems to be affecting the drivers side.
I'll be contacting the dealer this week.

Yet again these marks are all located above the horses back, I did read somewhere that people think it's water getting in somehow.

Odd question, is it worth putting clear nail varnish over these to seal them in and prevent water?

*OR any other clear sealant

Any brush applied coating at that scale would distort the image when projected. A film would be better, but if water ingress is the issue, it'll probably need sealing in a number of places.
