Whats up guys, I wanted to create this thread to begin telling my story of how my car has came to be. This is for my own personal documentation and i am inviting anyone to join me into my efforts of going 8's with a stock looking (besides wheels/safety) mustang.

I had my eye on the coyote engine for a while and was building a 87 lx t top with a powerdyne blower at that time. Once i was beginning to drive the fox body, i quickly realized my wife hated it and it loved to break valve train components. I'll never forget the first s550 chassis i drove and it was a v6 model. I had to own one. I waited a little over a year and pulled the trigger on a ingot silver 17 gtpp. I ordered the car at the dealership i was working for at the time as a technician in October 2016.

First time running the car at the track. It had a Magnaflow street cat back exhaust and a pmas intake with a e85 tune. Car was wheel hoping extremely bad and was only turning a low 12 second pass. On the 4th pass, the drive side axle let go. The car had 1200 miles on it and was trailered to my work so that ford could buy me a new axle and pay me to install it. I ended up replacing the whole diff and house due the the driveshaft wrapping so hard that it bent the pinion. A flange run out test showed it to have major deflection. I no longer have photos of this but i do have pictures of install bmr diff bushings so that it would never happen again.

I also went ahead and did vertical link and cradle lock out.

And it was time to add some ARH long tubes and a MGW shifter.

So after a year of running the car with bolt ons and a e85 tune, it was time to add some boost. Coming from the centrifugal supercharger world and fox bodies. Of course my first choice was a vortech. I ended up getting a brand new kit and a sai li return style fuel system for a great price. Along with tss crank sprocket and opg, it was time to install. I made a quick video from the installation but keep in mind that this was years ago and it was also my first time editing videos. I am learning as i go. Thank you.

I ended up never putting the car onto the dyno but data logging the car and have been working with rob shoemaker prior to his transition to florida, it ran awesome. never skipped a beat.

I was able to take the car to the track. Drove it there, installed some 28/10/17 bias ply slicks and ran the best of 10.81 @ 131. I was happy to achieve my goal of 10s. Keep in mind, this was a completely stock drive line including clutch and axles.

Keep in mind the car has got a set of wheels, some powerstop drilled/slotted rotors, and other misc stuff. But the goal has always been to keep it looking as stock as possible. I've always been into sleepers.

After enjoying the car all season, the clutch had finally started to give me issues. The pedal would not return after hard highway pulls and i knew it was time. So i decided to put some money into the drive line and install a Mantic clutch, FP halfshafts, DSS driveshaft, and BMR safety loop.

Decided to get a little dicey and go down to a 3.45 blower pulley and very quickly after that, the oil slinger in the blower decided to come apart.
v3 fail.jpg

I decided to just upgrade the blower and sent it to an unnamed porsche shop that supposedly new everything about these blowers. The parts they offered sounded like exactly what i needed and the unit did respond well but the shop owner was a nightmare. I ended up shipping the blower back and forth 4 times and pay for 1 and a half rebuilds and 1 and a half billet impellers! All because the clearences wasn't right. I ended up forcing him to leave the oil slinger out of the blower and shim the clearence with a special washer. This special washer was later sold as a "upgraded oil slinger" and my unit was the test mule.

Anyway, after that bad dream. when the blower finally came back right, it responded amazingly well with the new impeller.

It responded so well that when the cool weather came, it decided to lift the driver side head....

Now the fun really begins.

During the time the car was running flawless, i decided to look for a short block to build. I ended up purchasing a Ford Performance Gen 2 5.2 bare block. it worked out great because it was already at Holbrook Racing Engines 10 minutes from my home town in michigan. Long story short, i've been around his engines since i was a kid and it turned out to be perfect.

Since the car had lifted a head, it was time to unload some money into the new engine and upgrade the blower to something a little more capable.

PHOTO DUMP!

The removal begins.

FP 5.2 block
Diamond 3.700 pistons 12.1 comp and HD pins. Total seal rings.
Manley rods and ARP bolts.
FP Boss crank and clevite bearings.
Blue printed and balanced.

I did have a local machine shop deck the heads due to them lifting. They ended up removing .010 to make them straight.

The oil restrictions in the heads were removed and a basic plug installed to allow the use of the small hole head gaskets. I went to cometic for this and 12mm arp head studs.
