As empty nesters, the long decline from kidney failure and loss of 17 y/o Clooney was hard. We filled the void with a 6 mo. old rescue kitten, "Goldie" and after a 6 weeks, she is a joy.

I used to have lots of Koi but am down to 1 gold fish after losing a bunch while on vaca and the water pump died.
Ponyo has lots of guppy friends to snack on when we are gone for a few weeks, lol

Ha! Yeah, I live on a river and the Great Blue heron ( looks like a pterodactyl) likes to eat my fish. The monofilament line crossing my pond is the only thing that keeps them out.

It never occurred to me to post fish (duh)....

This is my 54-gallon bowfront saltwater aquarium, which has been in operation since the fall of 2003. Crazy thing is I lost the last one of my original fish, a yellowtail damsel, last year; 18 years (plus whatever age it was when I got it) is a heck of a run. It's fascinating to watch things develop over time in there.

A close-up of the cabbage leather coral in the center, with small serpent star. There's a ton of these little stars in there, including a huge one that was the only one I actually placed in the tank.

I've also got two end tables in the family room that enclose 10-gallon planted freshwater tanks.

My sis and BiL just adopted a couple young sisters:

They were looking for just one, but couldn't separate them.

A little back story. My BiL had a cat for ~18years. He(the cat) started getting sickly when my sis was pregnant. They day they brought my nephew home from the hospital, my BiL found his beloved cat had died over night. 2.5 years later and my sis got him those two little girls.
