Killed all my tropical fish, and my clams...
Judging by YouTube videos, I thought people got mantis shrimp for the purpose of watching them kill things.

"The shrimp needs to eat today. What do we put in the tank, this time?"

I wonder if there's a fish tank fight club. Now I want to see mantis shrimp vs. piranha.
As long as it's one lone piranha, I'm betting on the shrimp.

That's how it always works. You don't choose cat, cat chooses you.
I think the attachment can be even stronger with a cat that's had a hard life, vs. one that's had humans take care of them since birth.

When I watched this video about cats that had saved their owners lives, I noticed the cats were all rescues, or the family had taken them in off the street. That "hero cat" that saw a dog dragging the little boy, and chased the dog away? She had been a street cat at one time, and must have appreciated her family.

"Cat attacks babysitter"? That was a one-time stray who heard a noise, came downstairs to see the baby crying, and the only other human in the room wasn't family. The other cat may have seen what happened, and tried to de-escalate. Then that human picked up the baby and the first cat was like "Now you've really ****ed up".

My current cats have had people taking care of them their whole lives. One hides from visitors, and the other assumes every visitor is a new friend.
My old cat I took from a negligent owner? When he finally warmed up to me, he turned into a guard cat. He would check out every visitor, watch them until he decided they were OK, and dogs were never OK. That's how I got to see a declawed cat hit a 70 lb dog and win.
That poor dog... 😅

Your cat - "Which artery shale I slice open??? All of them!"
Oh no. He’s used to it. He’s had washes since he was a kitten. Once a month or so as soon as we are done, I put him down dry him off with towel, he runs to his treat bowl.

he gets them after every bath. Just before it was in kitchen sink, this is 10x nicer for this application

its 199.99 at my store.

Couldn’t fit boX in car. So I removed the items from box put the sink upside down on passenger seat and took box into Costco lol

Killed all my tropical fish, and my clams..........
My best friend in high school was into that big time. One day the nearby Arizona Canal was shut off for some construction and there were small pools full of fish every few yards. He scooped up a few and decided to put a small one in a tank with his prize lace angelfish. He told me almost before he could blink he lost two of them. He said his father told him later it was a baby large mouth bass. I know little about fish so he might have been pranking me.

The little guys say there is nothing to do but chill when it’s this hot out.

The big fella pictured above is Lucy (short for Lucifer), who was my best buddy for a little over 17 years until I lost him a couple of weeks ago to cancer. I've had my share of pets but he was my favorite, one of the smartest animals I've ever known. He was my shadow, my bunkmate, my alarm clock, my watchdog, my official greeter anytime I returned home. I miss him so much.

Up top in this pic is Velcro, below is Karma. Like the guy above, these two girls were obtained as kittens. Velcro had been abandoned by its mother at a frighteningly young age and I had to bottle feed her for a couple of months before she could eat on her own. Karma came from a friend's hobby farm and fiercely independent from the start. Both of these are more typical cats, but are characters all the same.

A shot of Velcro the day she appeared on the scene. Tiny. Sometimes I'm amazed she made it.

I am watching this little guy for a few months for my step-daughter...she may not get him back! He is really cool and has a great personality.

They're the best for sure. Having the experience is worth the loss.
