Just can't get enuff!
You could get a low mile CPO 991 gt3 for that kid of money!
Yup. Don't shoot me but that 991 GT3 will have faster laptimes than the R at any given track. :ninja:

Called them. They are taking bids as they have had 10 calls this morning. He says highest offer was $135000. Told him grab while he can. Sorry missed post above saying same thing.

You don’t want to know
I'm waiting for the day when a GT 350 shown at MSRP on Autotrader.com, Cars.com or any of the other websites actually is being offered at MSRP. It ain't happening... :tsk:

140k lol. I love the GT350 but if I'm spending that much it would not be for any mustang.

Haha! I just called and they are taking bids. The last bid was $135K

So much for that. I guess I better get used to my 350 Track pack.

I have a base and want an R. Here in Chicagoland the R's are well over $100k. The last unit I found 2 weeks ago was a black on black w electronics pack. Brought my car there which they said they would give me $68k but they wanted $128k for their R. Guess what I was willing to give them $20k over and keep my car. Went back next day and brought my car again and met the new owner of the R. Guess what he thought he got a deal because he bought it at $125k. Back west same car is being sold for $175k. He then through me an offer for $60k on mine as well. I said for $70k he could have it. He said he had to make money on it and he thought that would be his asking price. He is a reseller. Not going to turn a car for a couple of grand and be in the same boat like a few months ago. I think these cars a selling a lot stronger than most people think.

In time the next big thing will come along. I do believe this is a great car, so much do that I own a track pack. However the prices that people are paying are ridiculous. I get it, supply and demand..... but when the next great thing comes along, and it will, the demand won't be so great.

Recently, there was a thread with a dealer offering one of our members an R at 20 over MSRP. I sent an IM with an offer significantly over MSRP. Not only was it declined, but the dealer said he was firm on 20k over. He said he was doing "a favor?" for a member here by selling at 20k over MSRP? Sounds like a sale over MSRP to me......

I've heard rumors the gt 500 will be a twin turbo v6, like the gt. Cars like the gt350 with a very exotic large v8 will become a thing of the past. So there may be some long term collector value. Get me past the initial supply shortage and the huge demand and I think that in time the price will come down even if it is in the form of a used car.

I'll enjoy what I have for now and reexamine the market down the road.

However the obvious point is that there will only be about a 1000 of these ever built so demand will likely always be high. Not saying you might not pick one up for a decent price in a few years but wouldn't count on it. Congrats to those who got an R at a decent price. Otherwise as you say might have to wait for the next big thing.

Thing is we don't know how many will be made FOR SURE. Could run them at 500 a year until 2020?!

We haven't heard diddly squat from ford, however we do know that Ford usually will do a refresh every 2 years.
What I'm thinking will happen is 2018 the GT500 (next best thing) will come and be here until 2019, replacing the 350.
Then in 2020 the new chassis will come and so will the new 350.
Hoping they lighten it up with aluminum and make it 3500 lbs max. maybe displacement will shrink by then...who knows for sure on that.

Well history repeats itself. Just look at the prices of the Cobra R's of the past. Some are a lot more rare then the 2015-2016 GT350R today.

yeah i get it. rare, always demand, etc.

for 125K, i can build just about anything into a track demon. me? I like my black stripe delete tech pack. I've yet to see an R at my local track, but I'll enjoy the day that i see one and put 5 seconds a lap on it in my tech pack (that I'll have less into). :-)

for the price of a 125K R. I can have 2 "normal" gt350s. no thanks.

i sold a few cars in anticipation of putting in my application for a GT. After options, it may be amazing and all, but there is no way i'm paying 500K for it. I'm thinking my "next big thing" will be a 05/06 GT or a GTM supercar.

Exactly
If I had a R I wouldn't want to touch it because of its rarity, but for me it would be hard not to want to mod it. I'm happy with my track pack and with everything being a bolt on its easy to swap it back to stock. I for one do not care for the R rear spoiler. And I know the carbon fiber wheels are strong but I paid $7600 for 4 of my forgeline GA1R open lugs and pilot sport cup 2 wheels/tires. And replacing my suspension pieces on my track pack would be the same car if I owned a R and also replaced the suspension pieces. I already have R springs, control arm bearings, solid bushings etc. all for less then a R. If my car was raced by the same pro driver against a R I'm 100% certain my car is faster.

When I was looking for my R they wanted 30k over which was the highest of all the dealers.
