Anyone running the PMAS NO TUNE REQ CAI?
Sponsored
On my pp1 I had the roush cai with IATs only 2-5 above outside temp. Throttle response was great. But I traded for a pp2 and was weighing options on a cai with no tune requiredCurious about this as well.
The general consensus is that the stock intake flows well for an NA car and even though an aftermarket CAI may move more air, the increase in IAT’s negates the gains.
However, I’ve seen several dyno claims that showed a peak 12-15hp or so with just a CAI, no tune.
That’s good to know. Did you feel any difference in power other than throttle response? On my pp1 I had the roush cai with IATs only 2-5 above outside temp. Throttle response was great. But I traded for a pp2 and was weighing options on a cai with no tune required
With resonator and muffler delete was very good. I could pull my buddy in his S197 with vmp (until he got rpm) up in third gear rolling about 45. When I got in my new pp2 it feels very held back. That’s good to know. Did you feel any difference in power other than throttle response?
The PMAS is a hot air intake. I challenge you to find a single dyno test with the hood CLOSED that shows power gains. I had a tune-required PMAS on my old 2012 GT. Had it tuned perfectly after many datalogging sessions. Heat wrapped the whole thing and reduced my IATs by like 20 degrees, but it was still much hotter than the factory intake. Ran consistently slower 1/4 mile times than with the stock CAI. Sold the PMAS, which was a shame because it sounded absolutely badass.Curious about this as well.

That’s why I asked if anyone was using it. I haven’t found 1 review on any of the parts websites. If it doesn’t work like it’s supposed to then I’ll see how well the return policy is. I might open up a few of the holes on the intake side to see if that would help but we’ll see. Plus I don’t live or travel in any high traffic areas so I’m constantly moving never at idle more than 3 min.The PMAS is a hot air intake. Yeah I ended up watching some reviews on it and that was pretty much what was stated. Open hood or cruising around, ok. Any time sitting the IAT’s shot up. The gains I’m sure were typical dyno fashion, hood up and fans blowing. The PMAS is a hot air intake. I challenge you to find a single dyno test with the hood CLOSED that shows power gains. Where did you find the reviews? I’ve looked and haven’t found any. I even called them today but didn’t receive a call back yet.Yeah I ended up watching some reviews on it and that was pretty much what was stated. Open hood or cruising around, ok. This is the video I was thinking of. The car isn’t technically stock. But the tune wasn’t adjusted for the intake. It made more power than the stock intake but lost 3hp with the hood closed.Where did you find the reviews? I’ve looked and haven’t found any. I want to see a review for the 18-19 model. This is the video I was thinking of. The car isn’t technically stock. But the tune wasn’t adjusted for the intake. It made more power than the stock intake but lost 3hp with the hood closed.
