Plastic Recaro inserts

Has anyone removed and painted them? I like the white painted ones on the Apollo Mustang. I have tried to find info on how to remove them. No luck. I don't want to break them.

I was told buy a guy on the s550 fb page that had his painted that he took a flat head from the back and popped them apart... makes me to damn nervous to do it tho
