Apparently, my local Ford dealer is having trouble locating a replacement tire for my 2015 Mustang GT. It's now been exactly 2 weeks (at time of this post) and still DO NOT have a tire for my car. Fortunately, it's drivable! However, it's really a safety issue at this point. The dealer noticed a bubble on the interior side wall of the driver's side rear wheel. Not sure how it got there but it's there. I know for a fact that I didn't hit a hole in the road or anything like that. The thing that troubles me is that Pirelli has decided to change the tread pattern on the P Zeros and all the older pattern tread design tires are on all the existing new 2015 Mustangs. This is the 2nd time I'm going through this! I've only had the car 7 months and on the 2nd tire. This first time, I was unfortunate to pick up a nail, not to mention the dude at the local tire shop that ripped the side wall trying to remove the tire from the rim. Anyways, I had to rent a car since I had to wait 4 days to get a tire for my car. Now I'm going through it again!! My thought is Ford needs to deal with the #$% contract that they have with Pirelli. Basically, Ford sold me a car that I can't get replacement tires for! Need help on where to go with this! When does the customer become the victim??

Help me understand.
I was of the believe that if this scenario happens you can purchase two ( 2 ) replacement tires (same tread) and then swap out either the 2 front or 2 rear.
Doubling the expense. But what are you going to do. Your stuck.

Yes ???

I have a 2016 GT with the same rims on order. I freakin hope I don't fall victim to the same B*^"%#.

Tomorrow is new tire day. I was out killing the last few 1/32 of these tires today. Not getting p-zeros again.

As much as a agree about not getting Pirelli again if you have to get them then get them.

Also I just checked my warehouse i can get the pirelli tires so I dont know why the dealership cant.

This issue is probably more likely to do with their distributor than Pirelli. I ordered, once, a set of Continental DWS tires from a place I bought a used car from (they advertised it as having new tires... and it didn't). Basically they just never put them on and wanted to put on some Hankook pieces of crap. So I said, return those, I'll pay the difference for the Contis and you install them free. Deal! Well, their distributor took a fahh-reakin' month to get the tires to them! I could have driven to Discount Tire and had them on the car any one of those days... and believe me I almost did that... but getting Conti DWS's for pennies, basically, was worth it - such a great tire IMHO.

Anyway, guy said that this happens from time to time because the distributor hasn't gotten THEIR shipment or they haven't signed up for some priority program or they just don't carry enough inventory to be on the regular shipment list or all these other reasons. I had even called Continental to try and speed things along and they said they're having no shortages... so, maybe it's just he distributor. Or maybe the dealer ordering guy/gal is just half-assing their job.

I drove on a tire with a bubble for 4 months once... all was well except it starting making noise after the 60th day, but... it was a Nissan Altima and steel wheels, so I didn't give a fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

And as for the Pirelli's. Honestly, I don't think they're that bad. I cut through a snow storm for 5 hours on them and, while scary because they were summer tires in general, I was in full control. Rain, seems fine. Dry pavement, seems fine. I'm not tracking these things but... other than them being weirdly silent when you're not doing a burn out, per say, but still laying down rubber patches, they seem fine. Of course maybe that's their problem, haha... that rubber is being left on the road during a hard acceleration vs. grip? I still feel I'm "gripping" fine, until wheel hop... Then again, I haven't put another tire on this car to know the difference but I really can't complain. Now... I don't see myself paying $400+ per tire for these when I need new tires... might as well get MPSS's at that point.

My main problem with them is they fall off a cliff as far as performance at 45 degrees. I know they are a summer only tire. But it is a razor thin edge. They work fine at 46, suck at 44.

46 degrees is not even close to summer temps in my parts of the woods.
That is what I am saying. Here it is April 6 and just this week it has been as high as 76, and as low as 34. I have to have a tire capable of those ranges. The P-zero just wasn't it.
