After that you can also track the ship to Melbourne with www.vesselfinder.com

Maybe that means you are still on track...

I now apparently have multiple ford staff looking into my issue as of today's update from the ford customer service team. It seems my post on the ford visitor Facebook page asking for an explanation of this cockup around deliver date vs order date has got someone's attention.

As much as I would dearly love a positive outcome I fully expect to get no explanation and some bs reason. Along with no change to my almost mid year delivery date.... Cmon ford surprise me with a much earlier date

I'll try to post on ford Facebook page ... Many people ordered feb 2015 got vin and phone call from ford ... I got nothing ..
My dealer said there will be no mustang here this year delivery will start next year

Not sure why you are that surprised - just come look in the EU section. Dealers may have taken 'orders' at any time - but Ford opened their system at the earliest in April'15. Production of RHD cars began at the earliest in August. My car was built on. The 3rd of August - still in shipping, and that was a regular LHD EU car.

The issue is really the fact that there are a hell of a lot of orders made in March that are being delivered before my car is even scheduled to be built

Ford touted this order portal that meant cars built as ordered which was obviously a big croc of crap.

Anyway cars will come at some point. Just no point in pre ordering of the car effectively comes after the pre order cars.....

When I gave them $1000 deposit back in February 2015 ..the dealer told me how lucky I am to order before the cut off date and my order is in first batch ... And now no vin no phone call :(

after a facebook communication to Ford Aus. on Friday, to the where abouts of my Mustang (deposit paid March 2015 like most, to get the so called 1st batch), I have found out through the etis with the VIN Ford Aus. supplied, that mine is already built on 07/10/15!

I am sure my last communication with my dealer (which was early October when my Mustang was being built) was to check back later in the month, as they (the dealer) get news updates/bulletins from Ford in the last week of every month.

Lesson learnt and advise to others, Dealers are only interested in you until they get the dollars off you, after that they are only interested in getting dollars from some one else.

If you want info for your deposit paid Mustang, contact Ford Australia (via phone, email or facebook).

My advice to people sitting around waiting for a phone call, is to contact Ford Australia yourself,
Dealers (sales staff) would be too busy chasing further sales from other tyre kickers, to be bothered in updating current (deposit paid) customers.

Think about it, for Ford Australia it would be a big job to go and phone up 2000 odd individual Mustang customers, most probably won't answer and leave it to message bank anyway.;)
