Congrats. Relative to any SC kit, have you considered upgrading the OPG and timing gear? Seems a lot of people want to do that for added insurance now, as there have been a few failures.

For now I don't plan on upgrading them. My plan is for a McLeod clutch and then a set of half shafts first. Later this year Uncle Sam has some work for me, so the car won't be getting used at all. I will probably add an intake manifold and a set of cams while I'm gone, At that time I'll have them do the gears. Short term goal is just installing it and seeing how the car reacts to it. Maybe I can hold off on clutch/halfshafts for a bit. Who knows. I don't think it's even shipped yet though so it'll probably be a bit before I put it on.

Just the Paxton with 3.8" and the headers lol
Damn that thing rips! I ordered the 3.6 but I have a stick so hopefully I can get close to the same times as you. What tires are you running? I just grabbed some Mickey Thompson ET's. Hopefully they'll hook up nicely

Are headers necessary?
I wouldn't say necessary. like beef said they'll make better power(which is why I jumped from 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" before buying the Paxton kit. Plus they give a nice sound.

Thanks man, are you getting tuned by Lund? They will have your car ripping the same times my can as long as you can row the gears.

I would highly suggest cat deletes at a minimum as you will over-heat the stock cats and kill them. Hi-flo at a minimum...I went Kooks 1 7/8" offroad mid-length headers

Yea I am having Lund tune it. I can row through the gears pretty good. Haven't had a good set of tires on this car until now to even try to cut some halfway decent times.

I went with cat deletes on mine and picked up 32 hp to the wheels. I am sure headers would pick up an additional 10-15 more. I have no regrets going the route I did and the savings was a plus also.

ETs will hook well. NT05R are another option and work well. Paxton kits are a little harder to install than others but once you get everything buttoned down it performs. I would recommend an adjustable fuel pump booster or better yet a return fuel system.

why would you recommend an adjustable fuel pump booster or return fuel system over the boost a pump that comes with the kit?

standard bap works fine, cut and splice, if you want something plug and play, the jms is a nice option. it also gives you the ability to only engage above a certian throttle position

An adjustable BAP regulates the pumps voltage as needed instead of providing a constant output voltage at all times. This helps prolong pump life. The standard BAP is constantly boosting the voltage from the cars battery to the pump at a voltage of 18vdc.

Yea they didn't have the NT05r in the size I wanted, so I went with the Mickeys. I've been reading the Vortech instructions since they're essentially the same kit from what I've heard. Doesn't seem too bad, just looke kind of tedious with some of the cutting and routing of all the hoses and vacuum lines.
