Parts shopping for canadian peeps

Hey guys, I live in Toronto. If you live here as well, how do you purchase your parts from the US? To ship here the cost to ship is almost double the price of the part most of the time which is crazy. I heard some people ship it near the border and just get it that way but is there a service that I can use to avoid the ridiculous shipping price? If you're in toronto do you ship it to buffalo,new york?

I have a parts mule that brings me things I ship to Florida. Not good for immediate needs, or anything large, but I haven’t had any of those yet. This past spring had Gorilla lug nuts brought up, they cost me about 2/3 of shipping them here. Not much you can do, other than ask for things to be shipped via USPS, so you don’t incur the brutal fees associated with, in particular, UPS. I had a friend who used to rent a post office box just over the border, but then you’ve got that rental, time and fuel to consider.
