Partial Tail Light Tint? (PIC)

Hey everyone, wondering if anyone knows of a kit or DIY method to partially tint the tail lights. It's my understanding that the American Muscle kit comes with pieces that are meant to cover the whole light in one go. I don't want the full blackout look for my own car but I'd like to cover up just some of the red on the lights. Here's an example picture from an Instagram account, [MENTION=14655]SVT[/MENTION]_shark. I DM'ed him for more info but he never answered so here I am.
