So one of the things that is holding me back from purchase right now is concern over body fit. I'm not talking about internet anecdotes, since I fully realize that people rarely seek out forums to post how well everything fits together and works. I have pursued Mustangs at the local dealer and been a bit bothered by how about 1/4 of the ones I saw had some significant unacceptable panel fit issues, usually between the rear bumper and quarterpanel. Gaps, misalignment, or pushed in/popped out sections. So my question to anyone who had experienced, how good is Ford at correcting these?

Not very. Some people have fair success with a good body man but that's few and far between. Some of it is far less bothersome in spots that others only thing are grinds my gears for my car is the hood fit at the front is just all geeked up and I can't adjust that out of it.

Hmm...which inclines me to search and buy one off the lot that I can see first, and/or buy from a big dealer that has an in-house body shop, or explore some other options. One of the ones I was looking at was pushed in on both sides where the bumper cover meets the rear quarter panel at the wheel well, and there was a corresponding bulge about 3 inches further back. Another one parked right next to it was perfect. My guess would be the entire rear bumper cover would need to be removed and reseated. Disappointing that it can make it out of the factory like that.
