Might not have to resort to anything, just phoned the guy and asked for his email address so i can forward on the quote. Told him a couple of places had looked at it and they both said £180. Gave me his email address and said he'd sort the money once he'd had a look at the quote. Fingers crossed this goes smoothly.

Can but hope so, hopefully he's NOT taking you up the garden path as the saying goes! You've got plenty of threats should you need to use them

That was independent company, had 2 look at it now and both said the same £180. Both companies have good reputation though. My excess is £200, waiting for the quote to be emailed over then i'll give the guy a ring. If he decides to tell me to get stuffed then i'm going to call his bluff and say the rear dashcam recorded it all (technically it could have but it would have been off at that point)

My advice would be don't lie to him.....there's no need, you have a witness..

He may call your bluff and say he isn't paying until he sees the footage...

Hopefully a £180 quid bill might remind him to be a bit more careful in future..

Don't even need to do that, emailed him with the quote and the guys mobile number. He's agreed to pay the company direct (he's called them and spoken to them), so I just need to book it in now

Glad to here this. Good outcome.
I drive around looking for spots to park where there can only be a car on one side when I have to park in a car park. At least that halves the odds.
Either that or use the wifes car!
