Hi all just curious to know whats the paint thickness should be on the mustangs

I had a look at my paint thickness on my car it was 126 microns and that is really thin layer of paint fellas. I also looked at Honda accord and the thickness on that car was 179 microns.

The detailer measured paint thicknesses on mine when he went to the dealer to check on the paint.

For the aluminium bonnet he measured 75 to 105 microns across the bonnet and the other panels were all at least 150 microns.

My car is Black.

I have just sold my HSV Clubsport R8, to a private buyer.

Much to my surprise, when he came to inspect the car, he had a Digital Paint Thickness Gauge, to check the thickness of the paint.

I assume he was checking for accident damage, of which there was none.

He checked every panel, at various locations on each panel.
The paint thickness was around 175 to 185 microns.

Detailer told me the paint was very healthy on mine with good thickness. He also said to expect paint thickness on aluminium panels to be less than on steel.

I'm more than happy with the paintwork on mine and it came up great after the Ceramic Pro.

yeah most of my panels were 150, my detailer was pretty happy with the thickness, he said for a new car it's not the best but it's far from terrible either.
