no matter how easy it is I doubt the owners / designers of the platform will want to change their design just to suit us
you pay them to provide the eCommerce software they will customise it to suit your needs most people / ecomm systems do auto country detection anyway its easy to do (or they run a separate trade system for b2b)
if my clients requested something like that from me i'd do it to my software in a heartbeat because if i didn't they'd tell me to go fuck myself and i'd lose a client.

Have to say that (as a private customer) the non-VAT thing has riled me a few times as well.

 i know this feeling! & 9 times out of 10 you know the request is a bad one but you have to do it anyway :lol: I do agree though that it doesn't look like an off the shelf shop and if it's custom php then it should be no more than an hours work to modify the little box to display vat price as well as non vat. (and that's being generous)

the vat thing is really annoying but once you know it's not that big a deal. for me the bigger issue with the JWR shop is the categorisation. i don't really know what manufacturers make things, if i want to look at mustang spoilers i'd expect to go into mustang section, then spoiler section and see all the spoilers available. at the moment they're split across all the manufacturers, and even then all bulked together with bonnets/bumbers/wings etc.

the site is obviously aimed at b2b and if that's where the majority of their orders come from who can blame them.

I guess the feedback from us consumers is if you were to ever review it, display both vat and non vat prices wherever applicable, even in listings & let us filter by part type as well as manufacturer.

luckily for JWR all of the other UK based mustang parts dealers have naff websites & the JWR product range is so good we just see past it most of the time :)

Nemesis have a great site tbf to them.

But to the rest of your and hinch's points, i do agree, and it's something that's been mentioned at meets and what not regarding their site and 'ease of use'

typically most of my clients that do both b2b and b2c have 2 separate sites one for consumer side and one for business side, with regards to international orders well thats no biggie geoip is a standard php module to install to use to geocode the ip LMR use something similar on their site.
at the end of the day ecommerce sites are some of the easiest sites you can possibly make there's nothing in them that is spectacularly complex or even difficult so making a small change like this especially if you're in the process of moving to a whole new system should be trivial.

actually another question anyone know anyone running something like boostworks twin turbo kit in the UK i'm leaning more towards the TT than SC route but the manifold bothers me makes it very expensive if i've got to custom fab them and the turbo mounts and such.

mmmm.......this is turning into an interesting thread

I'm no computer geek , certainly no web designer so when you guys say its easy to do this & that I take you at your word , but I honestly woudnt have a clue

so, anyway , the website does show the VAT inc and non VAT prices but only when you go all the way into the final product details

are we saying it would be better if it also displayed the VAT inclusive price one click further back so you don't have to go to the main details page to see both prices ??

I can ask the developer and see how easy it is for them to change , I don't think its anything I can modify in the admin section as I have had a look

also are we saying that people prefer to look for product by type rather than brand ?

it would be quiet some work but if looking for products by manufacturer is more confusing it is possible for us to reconfigure the sections and sub sections to accommodate

cheers

Jason:)

Jason, it'd be easier for the sake of comparing prices & us when looking at parts to, once you've clicked the item, have the price of the item (inc VAT) so we'd know the full price, and then obviously shipping added once you get there in the process.

And yes, in my opinion for ease of use it'd be easier to have "Mustang -> part categorisation -> all parts (and filterable by brand on a tick box / filter section)"

WHY:shrug::confused::shrug:
that ones easy , all our prices are based on what we pay for an item , yes I can see its the same kit just as you can but we don't pay the same price for the kit from Roush as we do from Ford Racing

Roush also have an official UK distributor who set the official UK prices which realistically we have to stick to

We can source Roush via the US as well (albeit not direct) and in some cases (the SC kit would be a case in hand) sell at a better price than we actually advertise but to keep the web police happy for the UK distribution channel we advertise at that rate

Ford Racing (or Ford Performance) we buy from the US and have a decent cost+ arrangement so we can price entirely at our own will

cheers

Jason :)

ive asked the developer to advise if the VAT inc price can be shown one click further back as well as in the final detail box , if possible that should help solve that issue

the reconfig of a bunch of products and sections is a big job so may have to be looked at later but at least I'm getting some good feedback on how to add things in future

cheers

Jason :)

yep that would be perfect. just like it does on the final page, in brackets.

also are we saying that people prefer to look for product by type rather than brand ?
i would think so. unless i was a business wanting to order a bunch of roush products, i don't see any reason why i would want to ONLY see roush products. If i'm after a bonnet i'm after a bonnet. your anderson page has 7 pages of stuff, and annoyingly the bonnets are split between 2 pages too.

as long as they're labelled with the brand too then i'd stick all spoilers together, bonnets together, vents together etc obviously first split up by car model.

:clap2:
