OTT stripes with black roof

I bought a new ‘19 last month which is magnetic gray with a black roof and blue strips.
I’ve seen pictures of some other cars with the black roof where the stripes are on the roof as well, mine are not. I actually prefer a stripeless car and will probably be removing them.
What gives? Was my car supposed to have stripes on the roof? Glad they are not.

Just a GT, but when I added stripes on my GT, I opted to not stripe the black roof.

I think @honeybadger car has stripes across the black roof but his stripes look non-factory

If I remember correctly I think that OTT stripes used to go over black roofs in 2016 and then they stopped starting in the 2017 model year.

I would opt to either remove the stripes or replace them with black. Some people order their cars with oddball color combinations trying to get that 1 of 1 and wind up with a car that is odd.

Anyway, if you have an OEM black roof, no, there are not supposed to be stripes over it. I have seen people add them with varying results..... a few folks have added matte Xpel to give a subdued translucent stripe without a stripe, which was kind of neat.

Anyway, its your car and its up to you what you do.
