Hi all

Been wanting a mustang for quite a long time, finally took the plunge yesterday and ordered a Magnetic Grey GT with a few of options (Shaker pro, heated/cooled seats, reversing sensors). Taking delivery at the end of Oct/ start of Nov as I've got my current car until December so don't want to pay for 2 for too long! Car will be registered at the end of Sept.

I'm a big fan of the 15-17 shape and was glad to get in before all of the old stock had disappeared!

What would you recommend for initial mods/dealer requests on delivery (e.g don't attach the front number plate holder etc...)

Thinking of getting the Eibach Sportline springs post delivery - does anyone know what spacers would be best matched for these?

Looking forward to meeting some of you at the meet ups when I get the car!

Cheers

Andy

Congrats on the order Andy! And extra congrats on ordering the correct colour...you’ll be very happy with it!

You are correct with the number plates...you can’t ask Ford enough times NOT to drill the bumper - i’d try to get that in writing if I were you. You can always take some metal plates and sticky pads with you on the day and put them on. Some dealerships will only fit their plastic plate, usually with their website plastered on it!
If you are at all fussy on keeping your paintwork in tip top shape, DO NOT let Ford clean it. Some dealerships are better than others, but generally its much better to take the car dirty, then take it to a detailer, or have a mobile detailer attend and wash it before you pick up.

Springs and spacers are a must if you like the look. Most with Eibach sportlines go with 25mm all around, but depending on your preference, you can go a little less at 20/21/23mm. For me, I have the Eibach pro springs (less drop that sportlines) and 20mm rear/23mm front spacers. Plenty of pics of mine in the magnetic photo thread (and lots of good cosmetic mod inspiration!);

We look forward to seeing the collection day photos!

You have absolutely nailed the stance of your car!! That is exactly what I am after... maybe it'll be Eibach pro springs instead! Where did you get your spacers from?

Andy - Congrats!

Please check out the issues that some people have had with Aircon - on MY17s that have been waiting for their owners for a long time

Get the dealer to ensure that it is charged and working - way before you get it delivered!

and depending upon the weather in November - be careful when you pick it up!!! ;)

Thanks :) yea, I'm really happy with it. It's prefect for me - a nice compromise between stock and the more aggressive drops.

Dave @GT101 got the spacers for me. I'm sure he will be able to supply some for you. I remember I had to mix & match the brands, I made sure I got black ones too (i'm fussy like that), one pair is Eibach, other is a brand I can't remember! The Eibach pro springs are still available direct from Ford at a very good price; https://www.ford-accessories.co.uk/styling/suspension-lowering-kit?model=mustang&year=2015

ÂŁ150 is pretty good - I was expecting them to be around ÂŁ320, might have to buy them now! The tag for GT101 didn't work - I've searched his username but can't find it to PM him

Thanks! And yeah I've already mentioned the aircon to them and will follow it up closer to the time. I'll take it easy when I pick it up too haha!

Not sure if the tagging still works on the new version of the forum, but it's @djone101 (or see https://gt101.co.uk/)
Thanks for that! I was doing some stalking of your insta last night... man that car looks ace.

Did you previously have bigger spacers on your car (saw a post saying 25mm)? If so what were your reasons for changing them down?

Haha no worries - yea I do love a bit of Instagram!

I started off with 23mm rear / 25mm front. You could call me obsessive/OCD/a perfectionist (as a lot of us are!) - but at some angles one the rear - there was literally a few mm of poke from the tires which ended up driving me insane lol, hence the change.

Found a photo that highlights the teeny bit of poke...be aware though - depending on whether or not you are on a level surface or not, the weight of the car can make the wheel poke at the top of the arch seem more/less severe. So judge based on when the car is on a level surface.

Congrats Andy! The Fastest Colour too!

I too stalked Kristian's Insta before I went for it! Probably what swayed me to say "F**k it! it's time!" and went for it.

Definitely TELL (don't ask) the dealer not to fit the plates or clean it. I asked but when I arrived on the day to sign my life away.. both had been done  Waited long enough for it to be built and no more Magnetic EB's with the 200A package left in stock otherwise I would have walked out there and then.
I took mine straight to the detailers before I made it home for it to be Ceramic Coated only to find the Glass had been scratched and swirled with what must have been a wire brush :curse: equally all over the body too.

A couple other things:

I asked for mine to be up on the ramp for inspection before signing over to check the underseal. Mines wasn't too bad and no rusting as it was near enough just off the factory line before I received it, however I know of someone who purchased a MY17 that had been sitting in stock which had spent a fair time Dockside in both EU/UK and there was some rusting underneath due to poor undersealing.

On the usual full walk over I found the weather seal along the seam between the bonnet/front bumper on mine arrived burst, Dealer admitted it wasn't the 1st time he'd seen that being picked up. Was quickly swapped with over by a mechanic from a GT!

I also recommend taking it out for a test drive with the salesman (might seem like common sense but I know some who haven't) I found a grinding noise when turning full lock right. Dealer promised in writing to honour it when I get time to bring it back in. They did jack it up again to check but the issue disappears when there is no weight on the wheel

Congrats! Stunning colour, Magnetic
I also have the Pro-Kit springs though mine are US-spec bought from GT101. Got matching anti-roll bars and the BMR subframe lockout kit, and 25f/23r spacers.
Any plans for your exhaust? I have a MIlltek non-res catback which a few of us bought way back but not so popular/common nowadays.

Thanks man! I'll bare that in mind when I pick it up, hopefully everything will be ok!

I'm thinking potentially a Roush axleback (can't remember the name), but I think first on the list for me is dropping it! What's the difference between US spec pro-kit and UK spec?

In an ideal world I'd get the GT350 rear valance and full catback system but I think that'll be a bit too much money when I first get it!

Go to search > advanced search, and look for "eibach" in the thread titles against the UK section only. One of those threads contains a post from Dave @GT101 explaining the difference (IIRC). plenty of other info in those threads too.

P.s. excellent choice on the Roush - one of the best sounding IMO & relatively cheap.

I’ve got the Roush axel back with eubacteria pro springs from Ford £120, and 25mm spacers
