Decklids - yes can confirm it's too big for a suitcase. I got a blank one during a recent trip to the states and had to bring it back it poking up out of the front panel of my wheelie carry on. Just draped a fleece over to make it look like it was hanging off the handle. Didn't attract a second glance. Got mine from Lethal Perf after CJ's told me Ford had stopped selling the blank ones.

I would be staggered if Ford knew a build date now for Feb!!!!

At the moment Late April and early May cars seem (fingers crossed) to have a provisional build date of around mid Oct. Then you can work it out from there. I reckon an early June order could sneak into Nov but anything from middle June on I bet will be Dec. Order to build AT THE MOMENT (note I have no guarantee) appears to be around 6 months maybe a little under. From then add on 10 -12 weeks is my best bet for delivery.
Just heard back from Stacey that I won't get a build date until Q1 2017, didn't get an estimate despite ordering 3 months ago. Apparently the lead time from order to build is currently 7 months. As long as it is actually built in Q1 next year I will be happy.

I think the RHD cars fall into batches, so whether you ordered in say July/August/September it will be built in say the March batch.

They told me I'd get a build date around the end of the year but my dealer says I'll get the car in the dealership by February for me to pick up in March.

Somehow I don't think this is going to happen now. How soon after being given a build date does a car normally get built?

It all depends what "build date" people are talking about. My dealer and Karen/Stacey gave me an estimated build date "July" (they gave me this around April i think). This really is just an estimate and can move quite easily.

Then you will get a more "fixed" estimated build date towards the start of a month (mine was 3rd July) and as far as i'm aware this means you are simply scheduled for a build in that month, so this isn't fixed either.

Then its a matter of keeping an eye out for your VIN and window sticker, the window sticker will have a blend date on it which WILL be the build date (i'm not aware of anyone missing this date but could be wrong) mine was 19th July.

Just remember this is Ford, take it all with a pinch of salt, i believed nothing until i saw a window sticker with a date on it

I wouldn't believe any build date you are given until you have your VIN number. Then you can check your window sticker to see your "real" build date
maybe its different for the LHD, I got a build date and the car was built on that day.

They build a lot more LHDs. More scope to make up time, etc...
