Order times

I ordered a "base" GT500 a few weeks ago and the dealer told me it would take 2-3 months before it would arrive... I thought it would take longer than that. For some of you that ordered within the last few months around how long did it take for it to come in? From the time you ordered to it arriving at the dealer? I was just curious, thank you in advance for anyone that responds!

Your dealer should have given you a copy of the order with a dealer order number and the dealer number as well. You can call your dealer to see if they can get updates from Ford, or one of the members here can help. Once you get a VIN you will get a production week.

Keep in mind Shelby production shuts down for the winter I believe at the end of november until the beginning of march. Depending on computer chips and other materials it is possible that it could be spring 2022 before it is delivered.

On the same hand it is possible it could go through quickly and be delivered before any winter shutdown at the end of the year.

I have a CFTP on order that was on unscheduled clean status. I ordered it 4/24 and I just got a VIN on Aug 9th with a build week of October 11th

Order mine in may got a vin in may but did not go into production till last month.

Oddly, I did not order my car, per se'. It was started being built on 9th July 2021, and was delivered to the local Ford dealer on 9th August 2021, the day I walked in and purchased it.

This is what I did, I checked Ford.com for a Mustang, and the specs I wanted. Then, set a radius of 100 miles, to see which dealer had it or ordered it.

Seriously, with mine, it was PURE luck (well, God was on my side) that I saw it on Ford.com and it was scheduled to be delivered to my dealer of choice. When I contacted my sales rep (have been working with him for over 15 years), and he said it was delivered that morning (9th Aug), and it was being tinted currently. I said SOLD!

I'm picking mine up tomorrow. Ordered 4/12/21, In Production 8/23/21, Built 8/25/21 ...That's where everything gets goofy. The Ford Website says it'll be shipped "Est. 18 Days" and it's been that way for 2 weeks. Delivery is Est. 9/12/21 ...but it arrived at the dealer today.

The dealer emailed and said, "Hey, I think your car is here." Mind you the Ford website still actively shows it hasn't been delivered.

The only thing that's been accurate is when it went into production and when it was "built" but it didn't include the time it went to "striping".
