Does anyone have any idea when I can expect updated information on build dates/VIN assignment/estimated delivery dates?

My sales rep sent me this information on 12/30/15:

This just lets you know that the order has been accepted but is not yet scheduled

0019 P8T Mustang In Order Processing Unscheduled- Clean Dec-22-2015

I have not received any updated information. He said he checks every few days for the status of his customer's order and would email any updates.

Should I be concerned and go talk to him? I thought it would be 6-8 weeks from the Unscheduled-Clean date, and it has been almost a month with no more information.

Thanks for any advice.

I am in a similar boat, I placed my order on Nov-30-2015 and been emailing my dealer once or twice a week for updates but so far nothing as well. They did promise 6 - 8 weeks and also told me that since it's winter, not as many people will be placing their orders so the estimate should be pretty accurate. But so far nothing so I guess just have to be patient...

I wonder if others had a similar experience?

The funny thing is I don't even know what my order number is :headbonk:. I know that sounds crazy, but I don't think the seasoned sales rep pointed it out.

I valued his experience in getting my order placed, but my experience with him was less than stellar as he was answering emails/texts from other customers (and displaying their personal information on the screen) while I was asking him questions. At one point I said "When you get done answering Jose's question, can you answer mine?" Is this typical of sales reps?

I have a sheet of paper with the build that the sales rep asked me to sign with an OTD plus TTL price written on it. Perhaps it will be on this piece of paper?

I will check when I get home today, but on my way I will be stopping by the dealer to ask for my order number. I will also ask for the DORA.

Given the information I have been given on the status of my build, can I still cancel the order and get the $1,000 deposit refunded if I wanted to go to another dealer? Just curious.

Does anyone know if the A Plan offer that expires on Feb 29th have to be on an in stock car or can the car be special ordered? I have a shot at an A Plan but if I special order I don't believe the car will arrive in time?

Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks!!

It’s ok, mikegcc. PM me with your dealer’s name, the date you placed your order, and some of the options you selected. I’ll check their order bank for it. Regarding a cancelation, you should be able to, it depends on what you signed at your dealer.

Yes, you should be able to, GForensic. Your dealer is in the best position to assist with this.

Deysha is great. FWIW I ordered mine on 11/23/15. It has a Scheduled build date of 01/25/16 and Delivery 02/21/16.

Salesman told me 6 weeks lol

I'm ok with it though, I didn't have my hopes up. Good things are worth waiting for.

Orders are scheduled based on the following criteria, 1crazymach:
- the priority code rating
- the dealer's allocation for each production week
- the ordered option content
- the receipt date
The receipt date is a factor when breaking ties for orders with the same priority code. Therefore, the date is the last factor.

Yours is supposed to finish production today. Be sure to PM me for updates.

I went to talk to my salesman. He told me it depends on the allocations which come out at the beginning of the month, then he gave me an example of a truck that was ordered in Jan and has a scheduled delivery date in Feb. So I asked again, what about my car ordered in Dec? He said it depends on the allocations...

I went home with no more information, but incredibly frustrated. I asked him to email any additional information he gets. About 15 minutes after I left, he calls me and says that he thinks they might have some allocations available on Thursday and that he will do what he can and get back to me after Thursday.

There are compounding factors I won't go into here, but I really need to get my car. So I thought about it and decided to send an email to the sales mgr & cancel my order that evening. I figured I could get a beater and wait until the next model year to order again.

The next day (Tuesday) the sales mgr called me and said they were able to get an assigned "build week" of 2/8/16. They are going to let the car be ordered and will sell it even if I don't want it, and I can have my $1,000 deposit back.

I told him that I'll just stay in the deal.

I need to ask what this assigned "build week" means, but at least it is better than nothing. If anyone knows, feel free to elaborate. If this date stays firm, not sure how long to expect after that.

I ordered a gt350 on 9/2/15 and when I asked about it a month ago I was told it was clean then I asked two weeks ago they said they don't know anything. Kinda frustrating!
