On My Dog Walk

[The Demon]

Was is on on my 4PM walk with my dog with my wife and as we were walking we came across this young kid. 24 years old he was with his dad and he had just bought this 1988 IROC-Z. I had to stop and chat with the boy and the father. Whoever had it took pretty good care of it I hope the kid gets a lot of great driving out of it. I asked him what he thought the horsepower was and he said 260. I didn’t want to tell him the real number. He was so excited. I could do without those wheels but it honestly doesn’t look too bad. Anybody have one of these?

It is. Live right there. Nice place to go for a stroll. He was close but no cigar on HP.

I used to work for a supercross team, went to that stadium for races for like 15 years. Apparently when they’re not racing dirt bikes they play baseball there…?

Those were from my era when i was younger. One of the main reasons I got in to mustangs was the sticker price difference between the 87 gt’s and the z’s. Those cars handled better and had much better brakes then the fred flint-stones on my early fox’s. Half of us had gt’s and the other had z’s. We use to get the hp way up with a little bit of internal work. The the turbo’s started flying a d it got nuts.

Yep. Same with me growing up. I got the 88 GT instead of the Z. Couple of my friends had Z’s but I loved my 88.

I always had the Pontiac twin . 1984/86/88/89/91/2002(guess the last one don't count as it is a 4th gen) also had a 1980 and 73 but those are gen 2.
Lack of power was easy and cheap to fix. Finding a rear end that not go boom was harder.
