Awe dayum, awe sh|t...I can go on and on lol...

Installed the AWE Touring Catback yesterday and holy cr*p it's a lot louder than I thought it would be...but very nice and pleasant and ZERO drone at ANY RPM...speaking of drone, I swear at idle the stock exhaust "sounded" like it was droning, at least to my ears...the AWE, none. It's louder in the cabin by quite a bit. I swear I thought I saw some peeps saying that it's just a little more than stock...get your hearing checked because it isn't anywhere near stock. I really do like the tone and volume and I'm sure it will tame a little as it gets some miles (kinda wish it wouldn't, lol). Deeper tone than stock...a more wub wub sound at idle...and off the gas you get the gurgling and some pops which I love. I am very, very happy with this mod and I won't change it...on to the suspension stuff.

All I have is a cellphone to record unfortunately...and that would not do it justice.

So is there any booming sound as you drive normally as the revs go up? Or at a certain rpm?

What do you mean by booming sound? I can tell you this...any pressure on the go pedal and the volume goes up exponentially...if I'm cruising and hit the gas, it gets an initial loud sound then drops a lil but maintains volume if I'm still pressing the gas, and I don't mean mashed to the floor either....don't know if that is what you are meaning.

Maybe what you got wasn't the exhaust you think it is?

My experience when listening to this on others cars is the cabin noise is much much more. Not drone but a booming sound that i couldnt live with as a daily, and bless those that do.

It sure looks like the touring with the mufflers saying 180 technology so I'm positive it's the touring...PLEASE no one get me wrong...I LIKE the loudness of it. Souldriver, it is much louder in the cabin than stock, that is for sure. I do have to put the stereo up a bit more...I'm hoping that diminishes some as it breaks in. Josh/AWE can you shed some light on this?

When the engine is on a load, I've seen deep sounding exhaust systems tend to boom. Sounds like a subwoofer laying out some heavy bass when you accelerate, can be annoying and headache prone.

Yes, kind of like what youre saying. Not even heavy load just light to light and lower speed cruising. Above 50mph it would start to fade away.

Yes it does do that...hoping Josh/AWE can tell me if that aspect will mellow with break-in/time...all in all, I love the deep rumble and the tone and even the loudness.

Almost all brand new exhausts are going to be much louder than they will be after 5k miles of use. It will likely quiet significantly

Bolded area above always gets me, no matter how many times I hear it or read it.

Yes, break in is always a thing. It will tame down and become more refined after miles are racked up due to the layer of soot/carbon.

Well... I can say with certainty that the only way the Touring Edition Cat-back can be associated with headache is due to the excessive amounts of grinning and smiling caused by the rich tone. It is amazing how quiet it is on the highway (and I know this due to having to travel in our dev GT so much to go to and from our airstrip to film the product videos). It is nothing short of thoroughbred N/A V8 rumble, and reacts to throttle input.

Those looking for more volume and aggression while wanting to keep it tame, I suggest going with the Touring Edition Axle-back.
