Oil seperator question?

Trying to decide between one of the UPR units or a JPC oil breather package. :shrug:

Joe, can you comment on the pros and cons of both kinds of systems?

Justin at JPC can get you our setup as well if you contact them directly. The real difference is that you never want a sealed system to vent to the atmosphere because it will be noticeable idle quality difference and minor driveability.

That is the least of the performance degradations as you will be sacrificing the benefit of vacuum in the crankcase and that is responsible for ring seal and engine longevity. Also allowing the air to vent via breather or breathers you give up the horsepower benefits.

It would be the same as a race car not running an evacuation pump for the very benefits listed above and reason all the top engine builders run them. It's important to keep evolving with today's technology.

I will contact Justin Monday if you like to have him set you up with the best system. Just let me know as UPR and JPC are very good friends and business partners. Lastly on a different note JPC is a great company that helps us and vice versa on a regular basis.

I personally turn to Justin at JPC for his tuning expertise on the late model platform as well.

I think the UPR separator from the UPR vs RX tests was the old design.

These tests were exactly the reason I have spent so much time developing all the new systems we sell. After seeing the results of the 1st generation stuff that we bought from a different manufacturer. I decided it was time to reinvent the wheel and go a few engineer's involved and went to work with tireless testing and design changes until we fount that it was not just the internals as much as it was the diameters, lengths and hole sizes along with custom coalescing screens that made the difference.

These tests were done on 5.0 trucks and it really uncovered the shortcomings of the design I was using that was built for us and not by us. So the product we have now is designed, tested and 100% proven and guaranteed by UPR to be every bit as good or better that I explained it to be. I just emptied my 5030-98 UPR Single Valve Catch Can last Wednesday and it's only been a few days and maybe 120 miles and it has already collected more oil, that would have slipped by on the pull through design cans I have described.

I will take pictures today of what it collected in the short time to share.

This kit has very rigid hoses and sits on the radiator hose and we have 2011-14 Coyote's that have run them for 60K plus and have had stand alone results and wanted a very compact and easy to service kit that can't be beat.

The UPR Ecoboost Mustang Dual valve Catch Can 5030-104 is the only real choice because of being Turbocharged you need to have the WOT line to be able to maintain vacuum under boost without pressurizing the catch can and crankcase from boost blowing backwards through the system.

That is where the Dual Valves come in play and close the boosted line from the intake increasing the actual boost under WOT instead of letting it escape and pressurize the crankcase then push oil out the clean and dirty side.

The longevity of this vehicle requires a complex system to be able to properly function and allow your vehicle to perform better than ford anticipated.
