Don't know if posted before or not, but I found this video comparing Bob's, JLT, and Shelby oil separator.
This is an interesting test.

This test is a complete Joke and to advertise and compare products like this is like testing tire traction in water. You cannot compare these systems this way and get any accurate results at all. I will explain the facts here and call BS here.

First how can you do a test using positive pressure blowing air into a catch can? You can't it won't even come close to simulating how a PCV system works and is more of a rigged test. You have to use vacuum and allow the oil to be pulled through the cans which involves completely different set of physics.

Second the cans and oil has to be at operating temperature just like they are when they are installed in the engine bay and the oil being at operating temperature is a oil vapor / mist and can travel through the air. This test is everything is cold and condensed and still in a full liquid state.

Third none of these cans have any chambers or separate stages to actually perform any sort of coalescing or and allow the oil to condense as it travels in the clean side to go through the diffuser tube and start the condensing process. They are all simple in and out units and the JLT, Steeda, Shelby and Silver Horse are all failed copies of each other.

Fourth all the cans except the Bob's unit have side by side In and Out lines and this does not give the oil any time to collect or condense and the vacuum generally just pulls at least half of the oil through the can. That is why cans as small as they are do not overfill. The Bob's can will collect much more oil, but is a simple system that is a hollow can with a low oil inlet and a higher outlet with simple stainless mesh in the top with a screen and snap ring.

As for the rest including the JLT they are pull through systems that have been tested by many to pull oil right through them and give you the placebo effect by capturing half or less of the oil running through the PCV system making you think wow look at all the oil I caught. Wrong that's only half the job and if you install a simple inline air compressor separator after any one of them and run it through a full oil change then you will see the oil that travels right through.

I personally would not even compare any of these to the Bob's unit. Now for the RX and UPR system outperform the Bob's and all other without question an have been proven through ongoing tests and comparisons across the web. Sorry to get involved it's just every time I see this video it makes me laugh that someone would use this to represent their product and not realize how ridiculous it is.

In this conversation between Bob's or JLT there is no comparison, go with Bob's!

Yes this is our flagship system for the 2015 Mustang as we off this which is a Single Valve Kit with Quick Connect Plug n Play fittings on the car and the can. We also just added the new quick disconnect mount for the UPR Catch Can system. Ours comes with Braided line and Billet Hose ends and a fully adjustable bracket system to adjust the height and the rotation of the can to eliminate and bind in the hoses or fit issues.

Both kits work light years ahead of any other kits available for the 2015 Mustangs, the benefit to the 5030-98 that mounts on the front core support is the fact that it runs cool enough to grab it right after driving and this also allows much better condensing and coalescing since the can is so much cooler than the oil entering it that the oil turns to a more solid state just and can really do an incredible job. The installed pic is on my Premium 2015 Magnetic GT.

It's also the best looking system let alone the build and component quality is by far the most comprehensive build to enter the marketplace.

This was filled to this level twice in 2400 miles or so.

I made a point of having custom fittings made on all the NEW UPR Catch Can Systems can that can rotate 360 degrees and lock in place
like the factory fittings and never have any pressure or tension on the lines making access and removing them a breeze and most
importantly you don't need any wrenches for them.

The second one performs just as well but does not run as cool during operation and has a smaller capacity. The second one is about double the JLT capacity and the first one is about four times the JLT capacity.

They both do a great job and the only thing is you can go a full oil change with the larger capacity unit before emptying it.

Thank you for this information you have without a doubt made my decision to replace my JLT unit for one of these. My only question is how much of a pain in the ass is it to drain the "flagship" version? It looks like it is a royal pain to get to it in that location.

This is my only concern. I will be installing a Roush supercharger within the next few months (waiting for them to release it) and want one of your cans in place to keep the intake tract spotless. I installed the JLT with only 100 miles on it and now have just shy of 500 miles and I hope I caught enough oil.

The flagship unit is actually very easy to remove and just because you got that perception from looking at it I'm going to further improve the ease of installation and removal. But with that being said it's very simple overall to empty and maintain.

I will also post some more detailed pictures of the 5030-98 system is absolutely incredible and I can GUARANTEE that everyone will be blown away with the design and function when they see it first hand.

The flagship unit is actually very easy to remove and just because you got that perception from looking at it I'm going to further improve the ease of installation and removal.

With that being said will there be a change in design that I should wait for?

Also, any chance you will offer an upgrade return hose for people who install a Roush, VMP or the like superchargers? This is very important to me that I can just change the "goes outta" hose to make your kit work with my supercharger.

Is there any real world comparison facts or tests performed between these three products head to head? Not like the Bobs video, something that makes sense like the JLT revised video? I like the Bobs and UPR design, although I feel Bobs would be easier to drain. I guess some more information, pictures/instructions on draining procedures for UPR should do the trick. Also, where is the price difference justified? Are the internals much different? I am trying to justify paying 100 bucks more for the product, I would like to know why and what I am getting for the extra bucks.
