What is the difference between the number chassis number and the build number built into the Vin number on the GT350? They are different.

The number on the dashboard is the number of the GT350 itself - if they build 5000 in a year, then the numbers will run from 1 to 5000. The VIN is the legally mandated serial number of the chassis - the bare metal S550 body before they start assembling the car it ultimately becomes. If the production line has a GT350 followed by a GT followed by an ECOBoost, the three cars will have sequential VIN numbers, but only one will have a dashboard number. In other words, the numbers are not related to each other except to the extent that if you look at two GT350's, the one with the highest dash number will also have the highest VIN, but that's it.

That make sense. I recently received my vin number for my 2019 GT350 build. The last seven digits are 5550250. I understand the 250 relates to the GT350 build sequence, and if I interpret it correctly my build is 250 in the line in eluding other S550 models. So that says that at least as of today they haven't issues many S550 vin numbers.

Some of the very early cars built at FR in recent years such as the 2012 Boss 302 cars had a chassis number that mirrored that of the consecutive VIN build but that sequence went away very quickly just after a few cars.

The only recent vehicles that have a matching chassis number and corresponding VIN were the 137 GT350/R's that were assembled for the 2015MY.

Of course the digit just before "5550250" is the letter "K" with that digit indicating a 2019 MY build.

Do you have a Window Sticker which will show a Blend or Build Date for your car?

Some of the very early cars built at FR in recent years such as the 2012 Boss 302 cars had a chassis number that mirrored that of the consecutive VIN build but that sequence went away very quickly just after a few cars.

The only recent vehicles that have a matching chassis number and corresponding VIN were the 137 GT350/R's that were assembled for the 2015MY.

Of course the digit just before "5550250" is the letter "K" with that digit indicating a 2019 MY build.

Do you have a Window Sticker which will show a Blend or Build Date for your car?

I think we were sayin g the same thing...you just explained it better. I don't have a window sticker just the weekly tracking for from the dealer that has the build week 2/25, build location Flat Rock, ETA start date 4/6 and end date 4/12, and of course the vin number. Yes I have used the vin decoder to understand the complete number and that is how I determined that it is the 250th, 2019, 550 being produced. That doesn't mean its the 250th GT350 as other 550 cars are also in that number.

Typically a window sticker is generated ~10 to ~14 days prior to assembly therefore suggest that you may have a window sticker around the middle of February which is not long from now.

As you said that with all of the EcoBoost, Bullitts and GT's of various configurations being built then along with all other GT350's I would suggest that you will have a very early build and will be interesting to see what chassis number is assigned to your very early car.

Thanks for your insight.I will let you know when I find out. Should be fun. I also have a question into the Flat Rock plant to see if I can visit the day its built. I have business in Detroit so this would be a side trip. I did this with another car and a boat I had built and it was kind of fun and got some interesting photos. Don't know yet if they do such a thing? My guess is no ...but don't know yet.
