If you have designed these as a perfect negative of the diffuser mounting surface you could do this much easier, simpler and more elegant by:Thanks for all the replies, I did not think there would be so much interest in these, I thought it would be cool to build some extras to sell to some of my friends that own mustangs, but I might need to look into how I can get these made, I thought about CNC machine, and if any of you have any ideas let me know. As of right now these are handmade so they take time to put together which also increases cost. Let me see what I can come up with.
So I found a couple plastic companies that do CNC and lazer cut, will be contacting them to see how much they charge, will also look into not having to use the mounting plate which as JerseyDevil said would give a clean look, will see what they say and get back to you guys.If you have designed these as a perfect negative of the diffuser mounting surface you could do this much easier, simpler and more elegant by:
-having a very good mounting template that shows you exactly where to drill through the diffuser for mounting holes.
-have threadserts machined into the mounting surface of the blades that match up to the drilled holes
-have 3m tape cut out via machine so it fits perfectly on the mounting surface with the threadsert holes exposed.
-mounting hardware is on the backside of he diffuser with large washers, all of this is unseen and negates the need to have the current mounting plate.
Doing it this way allows things to be done via CNC exactly the same each time and lowers cost to a much lower level. The $ that is saved can go into better
material and also to have some of the surfaces rounded off via cnc. The BIG thing is to have a perfect template to drill the holes.
PM Jarstang. Also who do you talk to on forum as far as becoming a vendor ?
If it gets too pricey I may have to look for a vendor that would buy from me and then they can sell the on forum, any help with this would be appreciated guys.
