Tracking has nothing to do with it. You are compounding the myth.I could understand if that 500 mile was for cars that are tracked. But for that to be the acceptable amount for normal street use is ridiculous. Currently mine burns about 1 quart every 3k miles. I have about 6300 on the motor. Hopefully mine doesn't do what yours did at 9k miles.
Exactly. Has nothing to do with track use.Mine doesn't use oil even when tracked. I beat on mine mercilessly. No issues so far. Mine is a 2016. Bought it new.
I'm just trying to get information and I'm sharing my thoughts about why I think there may be this or that in regards to oil consumption. Just because your experience is different from mine, doesn't mean my opinions are nonsense. I'm trying to figure out why I am/was down 3.5 quarts only 3,000 miles into a oil change period. It's good that your motor doesn't consume oil. But don't dismiss me or others like me who are experiencing oil consumption and trying to figure out what to do next with regards of taking the car to the dealership to get it documented or should I just let it grenade?Every time I've checked my oil after a motor sports event, the level didn't change to barely changed.
These oil threads really need to stop. I don't want to be a dick about it but as @Tomster said, there's entirely way too much speculation, people not actually gathering data, and then drawing nonsense conclusions.
Nobody is dismissing you. However you just drove 400 miles and had zero oil loss. You are not consuming oil. Your data point is relavent and helps others to look past this oil consumption hysteria.I'm just trying to get information and I'm sharing my thoughts about why I think there may be this or that in regards to oil consumption. No worries. Appreciate the input.Sorry if I offended, but if you just drove 400 miles and there is zero oil consumption, you don't have a problem.
Take care
