Great news. Still waiting on the install for mine but at least I know it will fit now.

Honestly, I think it's still unknown. I ordered my rear springs using an existing GT350r serial number, so you'd think I have the correct GT350r spring.

But ... BmacIL makes a good argument that I got a regular GT PP spring. If he's right, of course mine fit perfectly! I have trouble believing GT350r springs are back-ordered in the States, but easy to get in Canada. Could happen I guess, but sounds suspicious.

I haven't been able to confirm I got the right spring. I'm not sure how I'll figure it out without driving the car hard, which means waiting for a track day. March at the very earliest.

Did the spring come with the parts tag on it? My spring says FR3Z-5560-T on the tag.

The more I'm looking into the parts numbers, the more I'm confused. It seems like for has several springs, in fact all the springs start with FR3Z-5560- ...the only difference is the suffix which seems to mean the model. Would 2 lefts fit if they weren't 350/350r springs? The one thing that does concern me is the FR3Z-5560-C appears to be $29 online, while the T model is $76? Maybe yours had the wrong label on it? Did you pay about $76 for it?

The parts sites get a lot of things wrong if you try and select the Shelby. It won't give you the right part for the monotube struts, for instance. The way Ford does their engineering/mfg as well as service part numbers, I can assure you with certainty that the C suffix is not the Shelby. All of base car variant parts were released first.

Ahh that sucks. I have FR3Z-5560-T, are they right?

I paid about $135 CDN for each rear spring (2 lefts ordered). That's about $100 US. Is paying more a good thing in this case? I didn't look for an SVT tag, and the car is now stored for the winter, so I can't check easily.

The method I used seems solid: order 2 left rear springs for GT350r, SN ###. My car looks right (slight drop), and drives considerably stiffer, but that could be because of the front springs, or Konis, or both. The only negative, and it's a big one, is the shop receipt showed FR3Z-5560-C.

If it was a PP spring, there shouldn't be any visible drop.

Also, keep in mind that just dropping the front gives the rear wheel well a totally different appearance (the angle). Mine was dropped 0.5" with SP085, which then I added the 0.5" back via Steeda spacer, and yet it doesn't look stock height on the rear. I've been looking at other cars that are dropped with SP089 only (which is the same theoretical drop as mine) and it does change the appearance of the rear without touching it.

I've run into an issue as well, the 2nd spring is finally being sent to me, however the parts guy said that Ford changed the parts number, it's no longer a "T" designation. I have a feeling he doesn't know what he's talking about, but either way I should have it in a few days, I'll let you know what the new parts number is, if it is the correct spring he is sending me. The 350r spring should be shorter than the GT, PP, and normal GT350 springs.

Aren't gt350 and 350r rear springs the same?

But I may have had the same problem, parts guy doesn't know the difference. I'm fairly sure a 5560-C spring will fit the left rear of a 350r, so in some lame way I did get a replacement spring for the GT350r.

No. They are similar/the same rate, but the 350R drops the car more. The free heights are different (see the Vorshlag test results post again). You can also see that the R is lowered all around more compared to the 350 when they're side by side, half of which is tire diameter.

If it's not "T", it'll show what it was replaced by. In this case, it's not showing anything:

I called 3 different dealerships, the new 350R springs are now designated by an "X" not a "T" anymore. I'm not 100% on this but according to these dealers this is correct. I believe the "T"s you can buy online are still earlier parts that are in stock. They said in their systems the "T" model now supersedes to an "X"? I'm going to buy a "T" model anyway just in case.
