I’ve been following through the same link but I’m a little skeptical about the delivery date. Zach @ granger gave me a March 23rd build date which aligns with my window sticker saying blend date March 22nd. It initially showed a delivery date of April 21st. Now it’s moved up to April 15th. I would be surprised if they can build it and get it here that fast but I certainly won’t complain. Ford, take your time and slow down with mine! I want it perfect!
You could also call Ford Performance and ask. They're really nice guys over there.

I’m not worried about it. I’m just trying to have a chance to be at the dealer when it arrives

I'm finished with that particular dealer. I bought 2 new cars from them but I won't buy from them again.

I told them as soon as I found out that that car wasn't going to be what I wanted and then they tried to strong-arm me into buying it when it showed up last week. Then when they had a new buyer lined up, then they wanted to say "Let us know when you're ready to buy your next new car!"

SMH.

Sorry if I came off pissy earlier, the whole experience made me ill. I was incredibly excited to get it, and it was my first time ordering a car ever.
If that was your first time ordering you can't blame yourself, your dealer has direct ties to Ford, not you, they screwed you, they knew better, they just wanted a sale, to bad for your disappointment.

I was surprised at how little they seemed to know, and the guy was supposed to be their "ordering specialist" or something to that effect.

"Do you want the XXXXXXXXX?"

"What is it?"

"IDK, I'm not really sure."

It was basically the blind leading the blind. If I ever order a car again, I'll know next time not to get in a hurry and know what the NAMES of the options I want are before I ever set foot in the door. It was a learning experience for sure!

That is what I do, I research every piece of information that I can find out. I am always in a rush to get an order in but I check it all out. Good luck with next order.

I remember when the Mustang GT was being built again in 1982. Of course no internet back then but all of us car junkies would read hot rod magazine and motor trend etc. So I read about this resurgence of the Mustang GT in silver maroon or black. I called three dealerships to test drive the car. the first two had never heard of it and didn't believe that Ford was making it. The third one had one in stock, a black one. Only available in a manual transmission.

So I test drove the car and they wanted sticker. So I called a couple other dealerships and got one to order the car for $1,200 off sticker. Now mind you this was a $10,000 car. I still remember I got air conditioning delete. Ordered the car in silver. Then disinformation that existed was terrible. And ever since then I've always done all my own homework.

Knowing that Ford is in the business to make money as a caveat... If they were going to have a FJG press car that was optioned out as a HP car and knowing that car would trigger sales for the Mach 1 Ford shouldn't have opened the order book until they were ready to offer BOTH a non-HP and the full HP version of the car so this type of disappointment could have been avoided. In the end I am sure many buyers are going to be 'surprised that they didn't get the HP version' when they go to see their new car...

Agreed. There was a lot of confusion over the difference between the AP and HP, what you go with each one. I actually started my order late last year, but when I could tell dealer was confused over the HP option, I had them keep the order in place until the HP order code was updated in January of 2021. Then we simply updated the order and all is well now, getting exactly what I ordered

Manufacturers always put their best foot forward when introducing new models. Thinking Ford would not show the HP at introduction is not realistic. Thinking Ford would delay the sale of the base Mach 1 because of the HP tire situation is even less realistic. There was plenty of information available about the HP prior to the order banks opening. Unfortunately many dealers never bothered to read to information supplied by Ford.

I feel terrible for anyone who had this situation happen to them. But I believe most Mach 1 buyers are enthusiasts who did their homework and will be fine. For the others I hope their dealers will work with them to make things right.

This Picture was taken 8-8-2020, and look who is driving. Dealers need to do their homework.

Here is another thing. Who buys a $60,000 car and doesn't do SERIOUS research? Come on!

This "victim" mentality where everyone is supposed to watch out for your rights except yourself is what is destroying the country.

I spent hours learning about the car before I ordered it. Then, I confirmed that the correct options were listed BEFORE I signed the agreement and put down a deposit.

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My son is in the process of buying a house. He paid $500 to have it inspected and it needs $30K in work. He didn't just trust the seller.

When are you expecting it? I was told the HP option was months away

Unnecessary victim blaming. Not everyone is an expert in everything. We sometimes need to rely on experts to move through this life (electricians, mechanics, roofers, and, yes, car salespeople).

Like you, I am into cars and research the hell out of it before buying something. But, I absolutely don’t blame anyone for going to a Ford dealership to order a new car and trusting them to know what the options are.

Don’t make a bad situation worse by making these people feel bad. It’s just unnecessary.

This is 100% Ford’s fault - and they should be ashamed. They need to train their dealerships better when they roll out a new car.
