Here is another thing. Who buys a $60,000 car and doesn't do SERIOUS research? Come on!

This "victim" mentality where everyone is supposed to watch out for your rights except yourself is what is destroying the country.

I spent hours learning about the car before I ordered it. Then, I confirmed that the correct options were listed BEFORE I signed the agreement and put down a deposit.
Not only that, but some of the dealership personnel are just plain clueless and their system isn't the best. When I ordered my '15, I had all the option codes on hand. At the time, the person entering the order had to select the premiere trim package (or whatever it was called) option to then be able to order the Redline seats/trim. It was more complicated than current because there was essentially two ways to order a Premium level GT, a 400A (mine) and 401A. I knew more about it than my salesman or the guy who ordered the cars, and they were joking that they should hire me to order their Mustangs. I'm pretty sure the order would have been botched if I hadn't been standing there looking over shoulders.

Know everything you possibly can about what you want, and know the order codes going in....

Like many, I didn't join the forum till after I had already purchased my car. I bought one off the lot, so I knew what I was getting. Though I agree with some of the others. If I were walking in to order a car or any product from an authorized dealer, I would expect the dealer to be the expert and place the order correctly or inform me that what I was wanting was not available.

Now we all know, that just doesn't always happen. So my option as a consumer is not to sign for it and walk away.

I was surprised at how little they seemed to know, and the guy was supposed to be their "ordering specialist" or something to that effect.

"Do you want the XXXXXXXXX?"

"What is it?"

"IDK, I'm not really sure."

It was basically the blind leading the blind. If I ever order a car again, I'll know next time not to get in a hurry and know what the NAMES of the options I want are before I ever set foot in the door. It was a learning experience for sure!
Before ordering get the order guide. For Ford you can find them here. Study it and mark off exactly what you want. Sit down with the person at your dealer and check off the options as he/she places the order. If they will not do that, find another dealer that will. That has always worked for me.

Thank you! I will definitely use that next time...I was pretty naive when I went in apparently, I won't make that mistake again!

The orders before January couldn't have the handling package, any dealer must have known that. Also HP cars production started only this month due to weather conditions and Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. These things weren't a secret. The customer being mislead in his order could've been by dealer's ignorance and/or not doing proper research of the options before ordering. I mean the order guide clearly says what the car has as standard - size of wheels, optional wheels and their size, lip spoiler (even the old order guide without Handling Package) and order confirmation should have these things too.

The car looks great as is

Exactly correct. I have 2 Mach 1‘s on order due to dealer error. i was mislead on the first as I wanted the handling package (just for the more aggressive look)Came to find out it wasn’t available at the time so the dealer ordered another in my name with the HP. Upon arrival I have a choice of walking away or choosing either of the Mach’s.. Also note I’m paying MSRP - a good dealer.

Since Michelin says not to drive the Pilot Sport 4S under 45F, why would any of the Mach 1s be available before spring?

That is why mine is still in limbo, the tires. It's just a waiting game, and I'm waiting.

That’s a good question. Does Michelin say 45 is the cutoff for the 4s and the sc2’s? Maybe the sc2’s are more prone to cracking and that’s why they hold off on shipping. The 4s shouldn’t be used in those temps but maybe being exposed outside doesn’t kill them as fast?

Here is the quote from Michelin at Tire Rack:

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

I am in the queue for a Mach 1 and live in NYS so I need to deal with a front license plate. I refuse to drill into the bumper and have been looking into the several options for front license plate brackets. None of them refer to the Mach 1 since it's that new. Can you tell me the distance between the center mounting screw that holds the front spoiler on and the spoiler's front edge? If I know that I can figure out if any of the brackets will provide the required clearance for the license plate.

As to the front plate mount, my california special has a huge splitter and I use the sto and sho. Maybe buy one for a CS and if it doesn't fit, return it?
