Any reason to prefer SP2 to R357?

Right now price is is the same but R357s are roughly 1 pound lighter.
To me they are too similar to the RTR tech7 and too close to the PP1 package. The style of the S2 are just more appealing and newer. The “tech7” look has been out for years and on mustangs for years. It’s not as fresh in my eyes. Just an opinion. They are still nice wheels regardless. The overall best wheel to me style to weight is the sp2.

I like the looks of S2s as well. But that extra pound plus.....

Plus?

plus what?
19/10 sp2 - r357 = 0.89 lbs difference
19/11 sp2 - r357 = 1.87 lbs difference

So it is more than one pound per wheel weight savings.

Yeah I agree i just am not into that style. Plus if you get Michelin PSS4s over Nittos in that size it’s 2lbs per tire. So that pound is meaningless if you go with the better Tires.

I'll target stock tire sizes for my PP car - 255/40-R19, 275/40R19.

You shouldn’t be riding 275’s in the rear if you’re looking at a 19x11. You gotta go up in tire width regardless.

Tire Rack recommends mounting tires on the widest rim width approved by the tire manufacturer
Above is for a track, but shouldn't be worse for a street.

I checked one of the tire manufacturer's recommended max rim width for 275/19 tire and it is 11".

I haven't checked 255 against 10" and other manufacturer's may have different recommendations, but soynds like 275 on 11 is not out of whack.

I apologize. I just checked Michelin’s spec sheets and max for a 255 is 10” and 275 is an 11” on the stock wheels. Just seems so wide. I feel like they’ll be a little less protection on those wheels from the tire. But yes it seems to be fine. My bad. I appreciate you pointing that out to me. Although I do think though this will look a little awkward and stretched after seeing some pics on line with similar wheel sizes on the stock tires.

With that being said does any one have any pics of these SP2’s in a staggered 19x10 and 19x11in reusing the stock PSS4S’ that come with the GTPP1’s. I think this might look a little stretched. When on the stock tires.

Finally was able to get my 10/11 staggered set with the Coopers on and get some pics. The graphite is definitely darker than the pics on LMR's site makes them out to be, but they still look great! I was worried about the Cooper's performance, but I took it out for some spirited driving (in Mexico, of course!) and those babies hooked on every launch and corners were like I was on rails! I'm impressed. Just sad I didn't get this set earlier.

I think I’m gonna pull the trigger on the black sp2 NT05 wheel package today, being the last day of the sale. It’s the only one I feel is decent from a legit performance stand point. The tire weight is 2lbs lighter in the fronts than the stock MPss4S and same in rear while gaining a good amount width so you’re losing an additional 4lbs on top of the 8lbs a wheel over stock po1 wheels. The 555g2’s are heavier than stock and aren’t as sticky as the 05’s. Also the NT05’s are max performance tires similar to the Michelin’s on the pp1’s. Sure you get about half the life of the G2’s and MPSS4s’ but I just don’t care about that. Lol. So lastly besides a little loss in wet performance which I don’t use the car in the rain any way, the 05’s seem to excel on dry over the 555g2’s which makes sense. I’m good with the deviancy of the tires because the deficiencies don’t affect my usage.

I ordered the package after days of debate with myself. I went with the NT05 like I said said in the above post. Black wheel package. And added the gt350 center caps. For no other reason than the Shelby caps just look “cleaner” than the SVE ones. looking forward to it.

I just used my Pony caps from my PP1 rims... just a bit of vinyl tape around the inside of the cap so it doesn't rotate. Looks perfect! Also, I used the OEM lugs, since I like those better than the black ones they sent. :)

They'll probably spin too. Tried them on the gt350 reps and to get a tight fit I would've needed to add some tape.
