The Ecoboost plate isn't terrible but that GT one is a misfire. The hardware is fine but the graphic design looks amateur. It's the font, specifically the script font. Its profoundly generic for something as exciting as a new Mustang. That plate looks like a kid's soccer trophy. Same as the 'Turbo I4' on the Ecoboost plate - they both look kind of corny to me and definitely do not look like they belong in the interior of a 2015 $30k+ modern sports car.
I don't mean to bruise anyone's feelings but the product is getting a strong reaction from me mostly because I think this is a fine idea for a product but the execution is leaving much to be desired. It needs a professional graphic designer with an eye for aesthetics to really make it sing.
I think if these guys stick with the official fonts and employ a professional graphic designer to do the typesetting, they'd have something really hot for $20...hell maybe even $25 if it's going to look like it belongs in the car.
