Need some help with removing battery terminal

I've been struggling for the past couple hours trying to get the negative terminal off so i can replace the battery...and unfortunately i cant get it off. The battery post is squeezed super tight to the clamp and i don't want to break the terminal. Any advice on removing the terminal? I've tried a flat head and mallet
