Just to make sure we all on the same page, there are two concepts being discussed in this thread by various contributors. The first is whether or not a car will start up in MyMode. I agree that the car will not start in MyMode and that there are probably good reasons for that. Thus, every time you want to use MyMode, you have to toggle to it. I don’t have a problem with that. The second is that when you go to all of the effort of creating and saving a particular setting in MyMode, the car should remember that custom setting so that when you toggle to MyMode after starting your car, the MyMode should have remembered your custom setting. This is the problem I’m complaining about. That is, when I toggle through to MyMode, it has forgotten my custom saved settings. There is no point in using MyMode if it can’t remember the custom settings. The reasons cars don't have your settings saved by default is govt regulations and emissions mostly. By defaulting to normal mode they can claim their cars pollute at a certain level, get certain mileage, etc.
I have had modern Mercedes, BMW and Fords, and none have let you for example have "sport mode" active as soon as you turn the car on. You always have to toggle.
