MyGauges Question

Ok, from just reading the posts I think I know what is going on. For those guys can't get the digital readout, you guys need to press the gear button on the right side of the steering wheel to go to settings. In "advanced" there should be a setting says something like "digital tach". If make sure it's marked to be enabled.

I have hit every setting on that display and there is no "Digital Tach" mentioned anywhere. If you have some sequence of buttons to push to get it, I would sure like to know how to get there.

Duke I'm suspicious it's tied to the manual tranny only. Thanks for your help. I'm hoping to get some answers in another post I put up as to whether it's only on manuals or not.

I had the same problem on windows Internet Explorer but when using Google Chrome it's still there.

Here's where to get to the digital tach settings. Also, if you're talking about the three meters in the center, those are selected through "Pony Button -> Gauges -> Configure Gauges"

Thanks but I'm convinced it's tied to the manual tranny and here is my reasoning. The auto transmission only has the current gear displayed where the digital rpm numbers are displayed on the manuals. Makes sense since manual guys already know which gear they put it in and that auto is shifting gears faster than I can count. The kicker is some manuals also do not have the digital tach because they don't have one of the options that makes it available. I suspect it's the premium package or GT performance package or both that's needed but can't prove it yet.

Most new cars with manual actually display the gears as well, and why would you care about which gear you're in when you have an auto? You can only go one up or one down, and you only need to know the RPM to make sure you don't blow your transmission. While in a manual, you can go from 6th gear to 1st gear if you really want to. But most likely what happens is going from 6th to 3rd because you thought it was in 4th, or something similar to that, and failing to match the revs in this kind of situations are really dangerous. So knowing the gear you're in is more important in a manual.

Going back to the digital tach problem, I'm not sure if it is a manual/auto problem, the programming of it is exactly the same though. And since the lcd is a digital device, even if it's displaying an analog style RPM gauge it needs digital info to do so, i.e. the RPM numbers are converted to the analog style gauge. So if you can't find the settings to it, it's either you're not looking at the right location, or the software is wrong (most unlikely), or it's because of the transmission setup made it that way.

So, getting back to my original post :shrug:, why is it that only a few canned parameters show as numeric data in the second screen (down arrow)? What is the point of not being able to modify what's shown. If you can't find the menu item to select what is displayed, why do you not think it's a software omission?

Or, have you considered that's all the system has to show? I mean in the configure for the three analog style gauges you can see what the system has and that's it, if you want more info than you'll need more sensors and setup your own gauges for them.

MY opinion is the engineers could allow the display to show anything they decide is relevant. I haven't looked at your picture close enough to see what's missing but they could have just simply decided those are the most important ones. I think there are 8 options and six are showing. It also could actually be a software bug in all cars. Only Ford knows so I guess you can contact Ford and ask them. I took my problem to my dealer today and they have no clue why some cars have the Digital Tach and others do not, I gave my theory above. In the example by DukeGAGA my car does not have that line to turn Digital Tach on with the "X". Mine shows 4 options in that area but they are in order ...Measurement Units, Temperature, Tire Pressure and Language.

Count again, only 5 show and they are not changeable. Who cares about voltage when you could have other more valuable parms. such as axle T?

I'm not talking about the dial gauges, I'm focusing on the numeric data. Look at your photo and mine- the same parameters and you get no other choice of what to display.

Do you not have the graphics of the analog gauges or do you only have that list of things with the number on the right hand side? Mine doesn't seem to have that screen. On the MyGauges screen there should be an option to choose other parameters right below the option to "show gauges"
