Gee, 460hp for MY18, is pretty good for a 5.0 N/A engine, in a relatively cheap/non exotic car. I hope they have sorted out headers on RHD cars and we get the same power. Would be a solid power hike for us. Combined with 10speed auto and it's a 12sec 1/4 car.

Bobsp12 can we put this in with the rest of the conjecture and rumors about the 2018 mustang?

I don't think there's any conjecture about us getting a power increase of some sort, or the new Auto. No rumor either.

Feel free to link me with the official brochure from Ford Australia or a press release from Ford Australia which shows either of these things as a fact

Every logical bone in my body, tells me that Ford is not going to build export Mustangs with old engine and transmission. Germany and Uk won't wear that and remember, emission
standards are getting even tighter in the next few years, meaning that the engine and trans upgrade is nearly a must anyway.

Facts? Ford Australia? Not sure if serious or joking

So true. Ford AUS has no idea. Plenty of pics of RHD MY18s going around. They clearly show PPwheels,PPbrakes as before+digital dash, hood vents and quad exhaust, which also means active exhaust. :clap2:

Doesn't mean we're getting all of that here though. Interesting that the UK (as an example) had a whole range of option that weren't available here.
It will be interesting to see if that trend comtinues or whether Ford can see an opportunity for an up-sell.
You'd think interior colour choices would be an obvious starter...

Interior colour choice would be awesome. Because Mustang has been a smash hit on the export market(about 30% built are now export) they will make sure that there is enough in the MY18, to entice people to change over from MY16/17 and keep sales up. I think M18, will be everthing MY16/17 should have been and then some. Although, jury's still out on that front.

I'm certain the Oz delivered MY18s will get a power increase. I'm also certain it will have less power than the US MY18. US power is up 11kw (if the figures above are correct, I haven't bothered checking). That can be easily achieved with just a change in tune so I can't see the MY18 getting updated headers in which case we'll still get a reduced power version.

MY18 has new cyl. heads with direct injection and a new intake manifold. So maybe, if lucky, we get better exhaust headers to go with that. Power is up 25hp/19kw and torque a worthwhile 30nm.

A little conjecture may prop up the current low post count on the Aussie forums....but I dont think all the 460hp that the USA will be getting will find it's way under the bonnets here.
While the butchered headers dropped some power on the 16/17's, the detuning to account for our average fuel here in Aus took it's toll in the power department as well.
I cant see the headers being changed as the steering components will still be in the same place.
Our fuel is still rubbish, so with the help of the DI, we may crawl up to the power outputs that the USA had on their 15 to 17's.

We do, but we also have over 1200 threads for the 16/17's.
