Just wondering weather Ford has dropped/shaped the nose on MY18 for pedestrian safety and improved EuroNCAP safety rating?

US motoring guy reckons it looks much better in real life. Claims the current one looks fraction "snub nosed". I'm about put around $70 k on to one of the "snub nosed" convertibles. Love the current look, but recall from the XR Falcon on always preferred the older model until the new one was more common*

*AU excepted.

MY 18 front definitely looks better in darker colours. Side profile I prefer bonnet bulge. Rear end - C shaped tail lights reminiscent of earlier cars, quad pipes will look good and differentiate from EB and I reckon the non - painted rear valance treatment looks slightly cleaner.

Love to see MY 18 Kona blue convertible with US silver alloys.

The EuroNCAP issue is due to the car not several key features like lane departure assistance and the rear seats not being baby friendly (duh it's a fucking sports car). Changing the shape of the nose would do diddly squat to improve the rating.

People have been a bit harsh on the MY18 nose. When i put down my deposit in 2014 for the MY16 mustang, i wasn't to sure about the front either. But ounce i saw one in the flesh, i loved it. The MY18 bonnet scoops, tail lights, Bi-modal quad pipes and Digital dash all look great. Add the extra power, new auto (not sure if it needs 10 gears though) LED headlamps and fog lights, new safety aids etc. I say, this is the car the s550 should have been from the start.

Personally, i don't care about ANCAP. But in EuroNCAP tests, pedestrian impact comes into consideration and this may have influenced the new design. It's not hard to believe that ford is very keen on a much better rating for MY18.
