To be honest I think it was the lack of comms that wound me up, I totally understand cars will have faults even brand new ones.

When are you getting the car back?

I have been told a UK sourced clutch has arrived at the dealers today and the car will be worked on today and tomorrow with a view of me collecting it Thursday or Friday this week!!!!!

I will be listening for lots of different noises all the way home though :headbonk:

You might be getting yours before me, today didn't go how i'd liked it, he heard the noise, but not sure which stage of the noise he heard, it was probably the sound that i'm not to worried about now as I've heard it in another car, the area tech has to look at another car in Wales tomorrow and he wants (yes back to this old line) to compare the sound to see if it's normal, can't believe it as they finally had Marks car in over the weekend so they could have done it then, thing is if he says it's normal then i'm still stuck with the second noise which is the one that bothers me and there's know way you can drive a car sounding like it does, we'll just have to see what happens, honest to god though it does seem like the blind leading the blind at the mo, even more worrying is this comparing of cars, i'd hope this tech guy was going to be the best of the best, if he can't solve it then I dread anyone having problems in the future.

I hope it is just a case of people hearing different things and maybe with more miles the noises may change? Sounds like deep down they want to make sure the car is how it should be - as frustrating as that is!

I am not assuming anything with mine until I get in it and push the start button this week...

Unless the area tech recorded it (doubtful) how can you remember a particular (and maybe subtle) noise a day later???

Why does a tech guy need to compare how it sounds to another, any decent mechanic with half a brain knows the difference between a healthy sounding car and one that has issues.

Seriously buddy you'd have more look just letting a Mustang owner who knows a bit have a listen, there is enough of us on here.

Also what your hearing could be just no issue, if I were you I'd just collect the car and drive it until it breaks to be frank as there is probably nothing wrong and just part of running in process. But I understand why your not collecting as you want the ability to refuse the vehicle.

I agree with Gibbo. If it was my car I would have collected it ages ago but I also understand Twiggys reluctance.

I do understand however that even a experienced technician, would want to compare a subtle sound against another car, when its a new product. My guess is that he thinks there is nothing wrong but he has been sent by Ford to investigate, maybe even know that Andy Barratt has been involved.

I reckon he wants to double check before he says there is nothing wrong and I dont blame him.

I may have said this already on here but I had a horrible sound come from my car just once soon after I got it. It sound like the gbox had fallen to bits, one of those moments when you feel a cold sweat and take your feet and hands off everything!! The sound went as quick as it came and never missed a beat since.

C'mon twiggy, it's a beautiful day, I'm at a loose end and need an excuse to go for a drive.

At the very least come and listen to mine if not go get yours so someone other than you and the "Area Mustang Tech" has heard this noise.

As Gibbo said, anyone should be able to tell if the noise should or shouldn't be there.

I'd have a job to hear anything over your exhaust ;) Just out of interest where abouts in Hampshire are you (pm that answer)? Not sure whether I can meet up today as i'm still waiting for this phone call from the dealer as to his findings, i'll let you know if that changes though....and thanks, very kind of you to offer :)
