Hmm, I guess you havent been in a custom tuned MS3....I was giving my honest thoughts on the car since I have driven and owned both. The average 1/4 miles times for the 15 GT is roughly 13.0, some people are pulling high 12s but the average is a 13.0. Those mods on a MS3 are running the 12.9-13.1. However, I would still take the mustang over the MS3 any day of the week.
Yep, I know where you're coming from. The Golf R I traded towards my '15 was a stage 2+ car before de-modding and was quicker than the Mustang is stock. Even with AWD it just wasn't right and I wanted another RWD daily driver.

Once the mods begin on this car though......

Congrats on the new Mustang, but a modded MS3 isn't going to hang with a GT.

I say this as someone who owns a modded STi, which is faster than a modded MS3.

I'm more curious about the 3k in rebates anybody else know about these?
And congrats on the ride, I'm eagerly waiting for mine.

Ah, a fellow genpu owner. I have a 2010 MS3 (stage 2, hpfp, with upgraded TMIC, custom tune on 94 octane, bilstein + swift spec r) and it's pretty fast without getting into stuff like meth injection, upgraded turbo, etc. Corners quite well too. It just loses steam at higher speeds due to the small k04 turbo, and of course FWD makes it kind of suck for getting off the line. I love my car and I know I made the right choice over the other available options at the time - plus it's a hatchback, very practical for a DD.

However I wouldn't be on this site if I weren't looking for something more powerful, so I'll have a few questions for you if you don't mind.

1) Do you think you can fit all 4 of the Mustang wheels into the available storage in the car, with the rear seats folded? My 4 wheels fit quite nicely in the hatch of the MS3 with only one of them needing to be partially stacked on top of another.

2) How is throttle response? My MS3 has turbo lag below 2500rpm, so if I have to shift into 2nd gear and start moving from a very slow crawl there is about 1 ~ 2 seconds of 'dead' time when the car just chugs before the turbo spools up.

3) How quick is it from 50 mph ~ 75 mph, aka. a passing maneuver at highway speeds?

4) How is steering response from top dead center? Like if you turned the wheel one way or another by a little bit, does the car respond?

5) How is visibility for making lane changes? ie. turning your head to check blind spot

6) Have you tried to back your car into a spot? How about parallel parking?

Any good reason why you drive around without insurance? Haven't had time is not a valid reason, since you had time to go pick up the car. Just saying.

Congrats on the new ride. Big step up from the torque steering Mazda for sure.

When I bought a new car the dealership would not even let me take it off the lot without showing some sort of proof of insurance or having the insurance company fax them the insurance binder. How were you able to take it off the lot without insurance?

Welcome - and congrats on the 1st mustang. I still remember my 1st Mustang - 91 GT Green on Grey.

Now, who the hell are you getting your insurance from? Are you sure that is a 1 yr policy and not 6 months? Im 35 and have a 13 SI 4 door and I pay $112 a month, I did total my lexus about 2 yrs ago though...but still.

Enjoy!

I called the insurance company on the way to the dealer and told them I was going to be getting this car or another one that scheduled to be delivered next week. I gave her the VIN and she put it on my insurance for 24hr, because if I got the car I wouldnt have "real" insurance. I was just playing it safe, and was technically insured but I didnt want to take any chances.
