I'm certain its not the techs or the place that services it. I just wondered if the factory oil might have something in it that protects the engine.

There's been talk on the US forums about that in the context of the rattle / tick appearing on cue after an oil change, but the absence of a factory fill additive isn't likely to break rings. More like out of round bores (also reported in the US), bad batch of rings, poor fit to piston etc.

I lost an engine in MY18 GT. One day after the 3,000 “Peace of Mind” service. Slow speed. About 10 KPH. Replaced by dealer and back on road in a week. Sold it. New owner noticed rattle after another 10,000. Took it to his dealer. They rang Geelong. Geelong sent up engineer. He authorised new engine even tho it was still running.

I think they are trying to get to bottom of issue.

I’ve had 5 GT 550’s and have a 2020 ordered. Only that one car with any issues.
