Read this thread with memeber JoeStang (middle of the thread http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35826).. he had Adam tune+ and his engine blew. Went back to stock and did the key cycle 100x and they still caught the tune, had to pay for his repairs out of pocket.

Now whether or not it was tune related or a factory defect, you will possibly never know and they will ALWAYS blame the tune. If you're gonna tune, go with the reputable tuners. However, if shit happens, be prepared to foot the bill.

But saying a "Pro Tuned car" will never blow an engine is ridiculous. It may not be tune related so makes no sense to say that. Torrie's Unleash tune so far, isn't the most potent but I haven't seen one blew up with his tune yet.

Google Focus ST engine blown, there's a 105+ page thread on this subject. About 15 Focus ST had the Unleash Tune and it blew, no warranty.

Tune at your own risk, all I'm saying. I too, once had an EB so don't ask me how I know the risk involved sadly.
May I please now what happened to your ecoboost?

Smoke on the highway, CEL showing a cylinder misfire a day later. Couldn't take it to the dealer since I was tuned. Service advisor mentioned that they WILL check for a tune since Ford announced a service bulletin (Asked when I was stock).

Went back to stock, took off CAI and never put the tune back on. Luckily, The smoke didn't come back and the Check Engine Light didn't come back on after I disconnected the battery for an hour.

Traded the car in 2 weeks later so those problems may still be there.

Learned my lesson!!! Never again am I tuning a car if I can't be responsible to pay for repairs.

Agreed. Unless of course you go with an OEM tune like Ford Racing. If it fails or has issues immediately as yours did it's covered under warranty. Yes the warranty is reduced from 60k to 36k miles, however it seems that if somethings gonna go it generally happens quick, not slowly. Well at least not slowly enough for us to see with the higher mileage EB's which only have around 50k. However there are plenty of Taurus SHO's out there with tunes and over 100k still running strong.

Moral of the story is, don't tune if you can't foot the bill unless its a FR tune which is still warrantied.

What tune did you have on your car when you experienced the above mentioned issues?

That is really bad news... did not know they put out a service bulletin.

We can search those, correct? Does anyone know the bulletin number?

edit (this seems to be it...): svt performance .com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Gas-Engine-Modification-Bulletin.pdf

Might be time for me to consider that GT... like the stock mustang, outside of needing a bit more power. I'd be salty if I had to pay for an engine.
