Has anyone estimated what the depreciation will be on the V8 and eco? I'm guessing that assuming the V8 will cost £35k new it will be be worth only approx £15k after 3 years 60k miles - high fuel/tax costs of the V8 I'm guessing will put people off? On the other hand though it is the more desirable engine so could keep around the £20k mark after 3 years??
Fast fords tend to keep their value well, especially those sold in more limited numbers so the Mustang might still have value after 3 years. Look at the Focus RS for instance...

Maybe, but the V8 will be much thirstier than the RS. Also, the RS is meant to be a limited edition, where i get the feeling that they will test the market with the Mustang and then 'flood' it. Just thinking whether to wait a year or so for a second-hand one? My heart says no but my head says yes!

Includes reg, tax, euro compliance conversion VAT and obviously a profit for the company selling it

So if anyone is that desperate to jump the gun on the real euro spec

Your mom
Its a great time to be a Mustang owner. For years, owning a Mustang in America, you find the usually tuners like Roush, parts from American Racing, Flowmaster, ect... But for the first time in Mustang history, now you have tuners around the globe, from Germany, England, Japan, Australia, etc...Can't wait for companies like Liberty Walk, Hamann, etc... to get their hands on the Mustang.

I guessed it would be manual as surely no one would buy a Mustang with an automatic transmission!

So would I!

But I was of the same opinion 7 years ago when I bought my Mustang. My previous toy was a (Japanese import) 300zx (hence my username). That was saddled with a 4-speed plus overdrive auto and it ruined the car to some degree, so I ensured I got a manual Mustang. With the Hurst shifter, it's great fun, but my daily driver for a good few years has been a 5-speed auto BMW.......and that 'box is lightyears better than the one on my Zed. Even the wife's XC90 is a 5-speed auto, and I enjoy the more relaxed drive.

Ford can't bring the 10-speed auto to the Mustang soon enough. But I'd still buy an S550 with a 6-speed auto, it's still a great 'box.

:)

Having driven a flappy paddel E90 M3 I can say that a manual is far better. An automatic sounds droney when accelerating and is very boring. I'm sorry but automatic and Mustang just doesn't compute for me. Anyway, each to their own!!

My '99 Camaro was a V8 auto, and I was more than happy with it. Since I don't intend to "track" my car, or drive it in crazy places, I will go for the auto EB...
I currently have an MG TF stepspeed with the "auto" box (it is actually a CVT) and it does have manual paddles but I very rarely use them; the electronics do a better job than I could, and I can't imagine a new box would be worse than a 15 year old design...

I have found the paddle shifters to be a delight in the Mustang for a daily driver, not all paddle shifters are created equal, our last car they were pointless. The Mustangs are wonderful. At first they seem so easy your fooled in thinking you get them and they are not as good as manual. That's where I have to say it's a new paradigm or matrix live with it play with it. It's like leaning a new martial art move it takes a lot of practice to make it instinctive.

If your not sure, and haven't ordered yet try to rent a 15 for a few days.

Enjoy,

DeColores

IT'S ONLY BLEEDIN 'ERE!!!!

If it's of any interest, my local Ford dealer, Gowrings of Newbury, will have an S550 on display from 12-16th December. I assume it'll be the grey 'vert that's been doing the rounds.

Address: Newbury Motor Park, Pinchington Ln, Newbury, Berkshire RG14 7HT
Phone:01635 555308

I can find nothing on the internet, but Mrs TT spotted an advertising van parked outside the dealership with a big S550 on it and those dates :)

I'll likely head there on the Saturday (13th).

Took another trip on the off chance, as I was passing.........showroom was shut, but I'll go back tomorrow :D

beautiful!
Obviously it's the american version, since it has small mirrors and red tail lights.
Can't understand why we shall have bigger rear mirrors.. :-/ Do we in europe have worse vision??

Nice, good spot. Let us know what's like if u get to test drive it.

Yes, why do we need the elephant ear size wing mirrors, are we less spatially aware in Europe?

What I did read though which has really bugged me is that the GT will only have 414 bhp rather than the 430 odd that they have in the States??

I'd like to know what stupid legislation is making Ford make these changes to the euro spec.
