Update, reprogrammed on Tuesday, and it's still not coming back today. I think it is solved.

Thanks. So no need to drop the car off right? It can be done in 30 minutes or less?

It's such a pain in the ass to go to the dealer for this stuff.

Wow I just read thru this whole thread. It blows my mind how many people tried to give the OP a hard time or question his automotive knowledge when he was just trying to give everyone a heads up! A misfire causes vibration. Vibration causes damage! It looks like Ford is finally headed in the right direction on this issue. But it would be nice to see them take it a step farther and offer free oil changes for the next 5 years or a coupon for performance parts, Something. Hopefully every gets there issues resolved. Customer service is all but dead in this country!

Alright guys this is now really getting to me. I took the car back after all your success stories with this CEL. The service advisor told me that the CEL is due to the recall and they ordered the parts for me since the CEL is VIN specific. How in the hell is a P0300 related in any way to an emission recall? They told me that the code its throwing now is an emissions code something like a 50697, cant remember. Im sure that in their records they have all the codes that it was throwing and they told me that they cant diagnose any issue until the CEL is resolved. Aint that some shit!

All P codes are emission related if I'm not mistaken. Don't know about a recall though. I know they did have a recall for the fuel tank or something that got hot, maybe they're mixing those up.

That's what I think they are doing, and yes the recall is for underbody heat temps. Oh well they will said that they ordered the parts for the recall and they should get the parts next week and then they can remove the CEL. Well see if that takes care of it.

Yup, I just read through this whole thing as well and my perspective is a little different. I can understand the 'hey my car is doing this but there is no fix' comments but to be trying things on one's own to try to fix it with some pretty wild speculation as to the issue and then complain Ford is not doing anything about it is also pretty ridiculous. These types of issues are unrepeatable yet someone at Ford is supposed to just fix it out of thin air.

I suppose an old fashioned change everything and make it look like it is being worked on would have been better. At least it would look like it is being fixed. But then again when the CEL comes back it would just be an excuse to call everyone an idiot. These types of issues are horrible to find and fix.

When a Check Engine Light comes on it is best to take it to the dealer when it is under warranty to get the code logged in and the information in the system. If the dealer says 'Ford is working on a fix and there is no damage being done to your engine' that is what is going on. Be patient and check to see occasionally if there is any news. Also, if the CEL comes back take it back again so more data can be taken.

All 'P' codes are Powertrain related. There are many other error codes associated with other reasons but 'P' is certainly more frequent especially due to drivability related stuff.

Received the CEL upon startup on June 25. The following was performed on June 26th:

"2354 TSB P0300, Reprogram PCM"

So far so good. Fingers crossed.

I just called my dealership and asked to have mine reflashed and they told me there was nothing in the system matching 15-0097. I told them the codes that were on P0300 and P0301, but since I have a tune, the codes have been cleared. I just I'm gonna have to run the stock tune until it happens again.

Please bring your vehicle in to your Ford Dealer and let's get this escalated for you, dabsevo. Please PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number.
