Should I delete the mufflers for sound what's the pros or cons I want some additional sound and can always purchase an exhaust later down the road what do you guys think?
Save your time and money and don't do it. IMO, its not worth it. Why? The drone is really bad. 1900-2200 RPM is the where the most of the drone will be at, which is typically hwy speeds. I had straight pipes for about 300 miles then took them off and reinstalled my stock exhaust. Idle and WOT sounded nice but not worth the amount of drone it had. I then went with universal magnaflow mufflers and it was a lot better. Still some drone but livable for me. Right now I'm waiting on some Borla S-type axle backs that I bought off of a member on this site. Everyone claims zero drone and nice tone, so we'll see once I get them on this weekend. I would have staid with the magnaflows but since I make frequent phone calls for my work and many people complained about the noise so this is why I went with borla. So after all my "testing" I think you are better off saving your money and invest in something that has been thoroughly designed and tested instead of trying to find something that may work for you. By the way, all exhaust testing was done with a resonator delete x-pipe.
I cut mine off the day after I got it. Still have the suitcase on and to me it doesnt drone. To me now I can hear it at hwy speeds but I dont consider it drone. To me it should at least sound like this from the factory.
I agree with 2015 silver gt. It sounds like a late 70's - early 80's truck with strait pipe duals and no h or x crossover. Very blatty/ no smoothness / slapping sound.
I plan on installing the roush exhaust with an x pipe of some sort but I have been told by more than a handful of people that it sounds really good so maybe Its the video lol
