I purchased the ones from American Muscle and they lasted about 2 weeks before falling off on the highway. Definitely go a different route!

I'm thinking about these, a few folks have used the fronts (a rear specific product wasn't available for a while).

They look decent, I like the connection, and they kind of disappear once installed.

FWIW, I'm adding wheel spacers, so looking for at least some fronts to avoid debris kicking up from the wider stance.

Holy smokes, someone post a minute before me :D

Just ordered those, for the price you can't beat them assuming they are decent quality. But I like the design better than the Jaeger or AEM which are only press on. Of course you could add 3M tape, but the Jaeger / AEM designs have very little contact area for the tape to adhere, which adds little to their security.

I live in Ohio, so our roads get salted frequently, we get snow quite frequently as well. Ohio cars usually end up as rust buckets are just 5~7 years unless you wax yearly and undercoat. Mud flaps go a long way in prevent paint chips which then quickly corrode, bubble and spread.

My last car was an 07 Focus ST 2.3L, crappy paint, chipped everywhere, it turned 9 this year, but didn't have any rust because I did all of the above mentioned even though it didn't have the most durable paint.

Fluid Film is great for under coating pinch welds and under body parts that need to be protected (it's a wax based coating originally develped for US Navy in the 1940's for coating ballast tanks in naval ships instead of constantly painting and stripping, I believe they are still using it to this day) that aren't exposed to heat. NuFinish wax is very durable and readily available for the body, 2 coats, one in the spring and one in the fall.

Thanks guys, I searched for several hours but never came across the ZL1 addons...would have missed them otherwise. That's the last piece of the puzzle for this year other than some weather tech floor mats.

Fluid Film (or Liquid A as the Navy calls it) is no longer used. "Bad for the environment". They started selling it like crazy in car catalogs when that happened, probably trying to get rid of the massive stock.

I have the Jaeger Brothers splash guards, front and rear. I went through last winter with them and this summer with zero problems. 99% of my driving is Interstate at 75-80 mph (legal) and they have held on without a problem. I take them off every time I wash the car. You can then adjust the rubber for a tighter grip, if necessary. I have zero rock chips, which says something when driving in the winter with the "gravel and salt" these a-holes put down. I also had them on my 2011 GT/CS, again zero problems.

While I don't doubt they are getting rid of reserves, I don't believe what they are selling is "old stock". You can buy it in new aerosol cans. I would imagine the compound is a bit different for personalized stuff vs what the navy was using. It's also widely used in agricultural industry still today to my knowledge.

Well I don't think its "old" as such, but they had a big contract for it I'd bet. Have to do something with it. I'm actually considering it as an option for my car since it will be winter driven as well. I don't want all the rust in 2 years.

Those are garbage compared to the ones offered from zl1addons. I bought these first and didn't even bother installing them. Went with zl1addons and couldn't be happier.

The rears require a little bit of work to install but if you look up the existing thread on these from a while ago, myself and others posted a bunch of pictures and tips. It seems harder than it actually is and they are secured very well.

How are they garbage? I ordered them because they were 1/3 the price of AM. Haven't received them yet.

While I can't speak from any personal experience, I did find a few threads on them from when they were first released and they did not get good reviews at all. However as you follow through the thread, PRI continued to evolve the design and last couple of posts seemed positive relative to the initial flurry of frustration.

However, the ZL1 products seemed to have positive reviews all the way around so I went with the ZL1's as they are literally 1/2 the price of the AEM's / Jeagers and more secure. I depends on what your doing, if your only concerned about gravel / stones I think the AEM/ Jeager's are probably just fine, but I'd imagine they may not stay on when caked in ice and packed snow which is common in Ohio winters, for that you need something a little more bolted on...but we shall see.

The finish of the zl1addons is much nicer than rpi's plastic as it looks very similar to the oem plastic trim around the car. Also, the way that these secure to the car is much nicer and cleaner than rpi, however, rpi have made some changes to their product but I don't think it would be anything that would be similar to how zl1 does it.

Plus, zl1addons has great customer service. I screwed up my install (didn't predrill the mounting blocks and stripped the attachment screws) and he sent me everything I needed free of charge and even gave me a partial refund for my troubles.

The zl1 splash guards are definitely a little more work to install but as long as you follow the instructions (which I didn't and screwed up) you won't have any problems.
