I had the same problem with my CJ Pony ones. The tape stuck fine to the car but came loose from the flap itself. I solved the problem by using 3M weatherstrip contact adhesive between the flap and the tape. Has stayed stuck ever since.I have the ZL1s on the front of my '17 PP and they do the job but as another person mentioned, the tape has pulled loose from the flaps themselves and now I have a bunch of small pebbles wedged in there. Not noticeable from ~20 feet away but I'm going to take them off and find something else. That shouldn't have happened two weeks after I installed them.
Do they hold well as i see that they just insert on the fender? This is what I used on mine....
