Something is not right. The black panel comes off the deck lid. It is not expensive. Neither is the lettering. Why would one replace a good deck lid when it's not necessary.

Dealer is trying to take you for a ride. Either that or the parts person is trying to scam you. Remember, he/she makes a commission on parts sales.

Rear deck lid is $700!!
I mean the regular oem deck lid with the “GT” emblem is over $600. Not really anything new by Ford with pricing. Intentionally high to make money off insurance repairs.
